About Radio Bilingüe
Radio Bilingüe is a community-based radio network that also operates a satellite distribution service reaching around 100 affiliate stations throughout the U.S. and Mexico. The FM network includes six full power stations and 8 repeaters in California as well as six full power stations and one repeater in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Texas. Programming is also available via internet at Radio Bilingüe's website (radiobilingue.org).
It’s been 37 years since Radio Bilingüe first went on-air in 1980. Radio Bilingüe started as a small grassroots radio station mainly serving Spanish-speaking immigrants and farmworkers in the San Joaquín Valley. Since then Radio Bilingüe has become a powerful source of news and cultural information for all Latinos.
As a non-profit radio network owned and managed by Latinos, Radio Bilingüe is the main producer of Spanish-language programming in the U.S public radio system. RB also produces a weekly 4-hour transnational talk show in Spanish and Mixteco, as a service to indigenous migrant workers and their families.
