Going through security at London Heathrow with my crew, minding my business, when I notice there’s some nice R&B playing in the background. Not loud, not distracting—just enough to set a little vibe. Cool. Cute. Unexpected.

I step into the scanner, hands up like I’m auditioning for a music video, and the lovely lady says, “I’m going to have to pat you down.”
Okay cool, we’ve done this before.

She proceeds with the most thorough yet respectful rubdown I’ve had in my flight-attendant career, then pauses… leans in… and goes:

“Oh my God. You smell SO good. What is that?”

MA’AM.
At WORK??
IN FRONT OF GOD AND TSA??

I tell her the scent, we smile, I step aside to get my bags while they start going through my lunchbox like they think I’m smuggling zebra steaks, exotic meats, or a whole forbidden safari charcuterie board through customs.

And right as she’s finishing the pat-down—RIGHT ON TIME—

TEVIN CAMPBELL COMES ON.

I had to just stand there and laugh because WHAT is the universe doing right now?? Got complimented by a beautiful woman, got a full pat-down, had a soundtrack, and still didn’t even get dinner first. No kiss. No phone number. Nothing.

This is now the second time in my flight-attendant life that I’ve gotten the full experience at security and honestly?

That’s it, y’all.
It’s official.
I’m out the closet.
I live here now.

It’s actually much cheaper for me to fly to the UK to repair my MacBook than to get it done in the states. The overall cost will save me hundreds.

Over 30K Flight Attendants plus mechanics 🧰 all UNDERPAID, UNDERVALUED and WORKING WITHOUT A CONTRACT FOR ABOUT A DAMN DECADE…. “Why men great till they gotta BE GREAT?!”

United Airlines is pushing back against the demands of its 25,000 flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA-CWA), stating that their contract proposals are "unrealistic" and would put the airline at a competitive disadvantage. The flight attendants have been without a pay raise for five years and are seeking improvements in eight key areas, including pay for time spent waiting on the ground between flights, less fatiguing red-eye flying schedules, and improved protections for reserve flight attendants.

The union rejected a tentative agreement in July 2025, with 71% of voting members opposing the deal, which included an average immediate pay raise of 26.9% and retroactive bonuses. The airline has presented a counterproposal, but talks are expected to continue, with the next round of negotiations scheduled for February 2026.

The dispute highlights the challenges in labor negotiations within the airline industry, particularly as air travel demand continues to rebound post-pandemic.
