SCENE DESCRIPTION:

EXT. PARK - SUNSET

Quinn and Susan stand in the center of a yellowed public park. Damp leaves stick to the soles of their shoes. Susan is clad in a shirt that reads, “FREE HUGS”. Quinn wears a shirt that reads, “NEED TO BE HELD?”. One-by-one strangers wander up collecting “hugs and holds” until the whole park is transformed into a hug fest.

In a bar, adorned in tacky 90s Western decor, Susan M. CROONS in a glittering ballgown. Quinn beats out a herky jerky rhythm on a kids drum set behind her.
Confused bar patrons wander past the two.

“Virginia is for Lovers” Film Synopsis: In a poignant journey of self-discovery, Quinn, a transgender recovering addict, returns to his hometown in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to care for his ailing mother with dementia, unraveling the threads of love and acceptance as he confronts the ghosts of his past.

Additional Information: This 10 Minute Short Film will be sent to a 20+ list of well-known LGBTQ+ Festivals (Sundance Film Festival (Q***r and Ally Program), Berlin International Film Festival (Panorama) - Berlin, Germany, Outfest - Los Angeles, USA, etc) and used to pitch a television series based on the concept.
