This is the ONLY spooky šŸ‘» post you'll see from me. My buddy Rope Myers told me about it. Pretty insightful and relevant - if you read it LMK.

We donā€™t need to be reminded of how rotten we are at the core of our being as some teachers insist on teachingā€¦

We need to be reminded of the deep and irreversible connection we have to pure, radical love in that we are all made in the image and likeness of a holy God.

What if we focused on reminding sons and daughters of their true nature -> made in the image and likeness of God and how to walk fully in the freedom of that identity?ā€¦

Rather than continually inviting sons and daughters to ā€œfightā€œ a battle that has already been won?

It's a Don McLaughlin, probably made in the late '60's.

If you don't know about Don McLaughlin, I thought you might enjoy a little history pulled from the PRCA archives:

Eight-time world champion roper Don McLaughlin was working in big-time rodeo arenas before he turned 6.

Born Oct. 27, 1927, in Chester, Pa., he was a trick roper with the Tom Mix Wild West Show and performed at Madison Square Garden in 1933. He was joined the next year by his younger brother, Gene, and they thrilled crowds at Madison Square Garden in New York City for 14 years.

At 19, McLaughlin turned his attention to roping calves and quickly found he could earn a living as a rodeo cowboy. Five years later, he was the tie-down roping world champion and dominated the event by winning four consecutive titles from 1951-54, and again in 1957.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound cowboy was also innovative, adopting a new style of tying calves. Instead of taking the first two wraps around all three feet, he shaved time by taking one wrap around the back feet, then cinching the tie with a final half-hitch.

He lived in Fort Worth, Texas, during the 1950s before moving his family to Fort Collins, Colo., in 1962 to open a Western store and saddle shop, along with indoor and outdoor arenas where he gave roping lessons.

McLaughlin added steer roping world championships in 1960, 1963 and 1970.
Due to his decades of rodeo success, McLaughlin was among the inaugural class of inductees to the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1979.

At the time of his death at his home in Fort Collins in 1994, McLaughlin held the record for the longest stretch in PRCA history between his first and last world championships at 19 years and was one of four PRCA cowboys to win titles in three decades.

As of 2019, McLaughlin remains near the top of the record books as one of eight cowboys to have won eight world titles, while only eight others have won nine or more.

--
I got to meet Don's son Mike McLaughlin before I started rodeoing in the PRCA on a job interview & he was gracious to me and encouraged me to go for it.

Hope y'all enjoy!

Donā€™t give a man a rope until he knows how to ride a horse

Donā€™t give a man a sword until he learns how to dance

Donā€™t expect a man to know how to be a man until he knows about his creator ļæ¼ļæ¼

This Old West Days Mug is from last October. I probably have 12 of these mugs and every time I grab one I think of my Mom.

She LOVED this Gathering. She loved the poetry, the singing, the hat tip to a time gone by but most of all she loved the people.

Thank you Mom for teaching us, but more importantly showing us, how you could make someone's day just a little bit brighter by looking them in the eye, smiling, and genuinely caring.

This morning I'm reminded of the twinkle in Mom's eyes and her beautiful smile and how when she looked at me you could FEEL her love.

I know I'm her son, and that is a special thing, but I used to watch how she could do the same thing to a complete stranger:
- a waitress in a restaurant
- a customer at Young's Western Wear
- the clerk at the quick stop
- a kid at the rodeo
- fill in the blank...

This legacy you started Mom is a legacy I am committed to carrying on.

My kids know it and by God's grace their kids will know it and remember who and where it came from.

Another Level...

In sport, business, relationships, health, horses, mates, food, education, etc. there's always the elusive "next level" or "another level".

Tony Robbins teaches to 'never settle' - to always be pushing ourselves outside of our comfort zone.

Paul teaches us to be content in any situation (he penned these words sitting in prison):
"Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

To be honest, I never liked Pauls "contentment" speech.

Prior to being introduced to Jesus I was a self-help ju**ie.

Just a handful of the books I've read on the subject:
- The Psychology of Winning
- Psycho-Cybernetics
- Unlimited Power
- Richest man in Babylon
- The Power of Positive Thinking
- How to Win Friends and Influence People
- The Secret (šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø..)
- Think and Grow Rich
- The Magic of Thinking Big
- Peak Performance

I've even walked on 1600Ā° hot coals barefoot TWICE - learning the power of mind over matter...

What I've come to know is this...

Chasing 'Another Level' can be just like trying to throw a steer down by pulling on his tail.

Or like jumping on a hamster wheel running for that chunk of cheese that's just out of reach.

So, is there Another Level from which we should set our sights on and operate from?

YES!!

It's Far Above - it's a SEAT of Authority and Power and Dominion.

It can only be 'attained' by being IN the Kingdom of Heaven.

The only way to be IN the Kingdom is through The Way (Jesus).

Here's what I'm talking about:

ā€œand what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He performed in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, FAR ABOVE all principalities, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet and made Him the head over all things for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all things in all ways.ā€
ā€ā€Ephesiansā€¬ ā€1ā€¬:ā€19ā€¬-ā€23ā€¬ ā€MEVā€¬ā€¬

ā€œand He raised us up and seated us together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,ā€
ā€ā€Ephesiansā€¬ ā€2ā€¬:ā€6ā€¬ ā€MEVā€¬ā€¬

So Another Level for you and I is to be IN Christ, seated together with Jesus IN Heavenly places, FAR ABOVE everything.

When we live and lead and serve from a position of Another Level - Far Above all the $hit that happens on this earth, we can rest and make decisions that are inspired by the Holy Spirit.

By all means live an "Another Level" life.

Just make sure you define what your "Another Level" is...

I hope for your sake it's not the hamster wheel life.

Press on

Today at 2pm CST I'm running a 30 min workshop on how to install a Halftime Life Adjustmentā„¢.

The Halftime Life Adjustmentā„¢ is for men in the second half of life.

The HLAā„¢ connects your reason why with a simple system that can be installed and begin using right away.

I believe that Time is our most Valuable asset and most of us spend the first half of our lives thinking that it's an endless resource that will never run dry.

Wrong šŸ›‘

If you would like to redeem lost time, crush life in the second half and win this game called life then you should come to the workshop.

Itā€™s going to be productive and worthwhile for the right man.

It could change your life.

If you attend hereā€™s the elements weā€™ll cover in the Halftime Life Adjustmentā„¢:

1. How to define your True Value of Time
2. How to install the fuel source of TVTx
3. How to simply and quickly identify & eliminate time wasters
4. How to install time multipliers
5. How to install a calculator that will help keep you motivated
6. The 1 key ingredient required in order for this to work

If you want to win the second half of your life, redeem lost time and have a blast doing it then this will be the best 30 minutes youā€™ll spend.

This workshop normally sells for $400 but I've discounted it to $100.

It will be fast, fun and will pack a punch šŸ‘ŠšŸ¼.
