Our Story
Ryan, Brian and Jason “J.P.” (Mason Dixon Diggers) are dedicated to saving Civil War history that is still left in the ground. Ryan is a former Middle East Veteran and has been metal detecting since he was 10. Ryan is passionate about saving the history and loves finding new places to metal detect. Brian has been interested in the Civil War as a small child since his father taught US History for 41 years. Brian started metal detecting in 2014 after his wife bought him his first metal detecting.
“J.P.” has always been interested in antiques, old coins, and Civil War history. In February 2017, J.P. decided to purchase his metal detector and his addiction began. J.P. did research on Civil War activity/movements and was fortunate to locate a company camp near his home. Finding the company camp and the many relics it had to offer just fueled his interest of preserving relics and history. He believes that by saving, preserving, and education he will help future generations have insight and knowledge to the past and to such an important time in our American History.
