Tucked away in the home audio labyrinth of the audiophile Thomas "Jayare" Kight is a modest yet professional Recording studio. Modeled after many of the great studios "Hit Factory" and "Patchwerk Studios" Jayare has created a calming, inspiring, and often loud sanctuary for recording artists. With an outer sitting area of plush sofas and hometown art
are a few sketch pads, composition notebooks and personal audio recorders. Housed in the control Room is a Large 42inch Monitor which also can double as a Video editing suite accompanied with Foley mixing and after effect editing suites. At his full control is a ProTools HD11 standalone setup Ran from his Custom Modeled PC into Focusrite OctoPre and Saffire Pro 40 setups for Live Audio recording When ProTools is required. At the center of live instrumentation recording is a Behringer 32 Track mixer Feeding into an Alesis HD 24 Digital recorder capapble of recording 24 Tracks as well as a Vestax Digi2 8 Channel recorder for the last 8 tracks for vintage sound. With a host of Signal Processors, Exciters, Limiters, Compressors, and Mastering rigs from notable names such as ART, Roland, Behringer, Alesis, Presonus, Tascam, Focusrite, BBE, and Antares there isnt much that cannot be achieved in such a modest spacing. For playback there are Yamaha HS 5 monitors for near- mid range and Behringer Truth Reference powered woofers for Big bass that literally shakes the room. On the production side of things there are many software options as well as outboard gear to use. Being a cubase fan Jayare uses Primarily Yamaha equipment for a seamless interfacing standpoint. However he loves using Akai, Roland and Korg equipment as well. There are a few Behringer Keyboards the UX control 61 key and the Akai MPK 61 key as well as the Yamaha Motif X6. All can be used directly into the mixer as well as sequenced on the machines or used with DAW for full production creation. There is a Roland MV8800 and Akai MPC2500 for drums and percussion. With room for a full size sofa and tv's on both sides you can keep up with the games and news while taking full control of your mix. on the opposite side of the glass is a 7 by 7 foot recording booth with a host of microphones from Audio Technica, Shure, MXL, Neumann, and Sterling Audio. Lighting dimmers and effect switches allow the mood to be set for intense sessions that require it, and temprerature control. "you gotta love the space that allows you to be you" is a quote from Jayare and upon visiting the space you will feel right at home here.
