The best news ever! This was long past due! Our guy Clayton. Let’s goooooo!!!! 👏🏼
I’m beyond grateful and excited for the opportunity to be joining Anastasia Brown, Tracy Percival and the entire VMG family! I was so close to giving up my dream when covid hit, but this partnership is such a blessing. Our ideals and passion for music are parallel and I honestly can’t convey how very thankful I am. I’m so fired up!
I can't even believe it's even happening really. Back in mid march when Covid hit, I sat around a couple days wondering how in the world I was going to survive. I've been an independent artist my entire career making my money by being on the road playing shows. I thought about giving up, bowing to defeat, but I love it too much to quit. Entertaining people is all I've ever wanted to do. So I got back to my roots and moved back to Indiana where I got busy working with my band. Live streams, writing, recording, anything we could do. We hustled and found safe shows to play. We survived. My least successful year economically but the most rewarding. And in the end, especially with this opportunity with VMG, it has turned into a huge blessing.
I want to thank my family and friends, all my fans, even though I hate calling them that because they're so much more than just a fan. They're truly the reason I'm here and I hope they're just as excited about this as I am. Thanks to everyone in Nashville friends who put in so much love and effort along the way to boost me forward. Thanks to all the great writers and musicians I've gotten to work with. All the great industry folks who have helped promote me to new fans whether by streaming, blogs, websites, interviews, radio, takeovers, you name it, thank you.
There are no overnight successes. I took the long way, building real fans, one show, one sorority serenade, one acoustic late night dock party at a time. It's a long hard road that ain't no doubt. All I've ever hoped for was to get a shot. Been close a couple times, but now I've finally got it. You have to have a great team. You can't make it to the top on your own, it's too tough of a business. The VMG family is going to be my champion and I'm so fired up for what is to come.
