Made a little drive down to Ft. Knox to compete in the USACC Best ACFT contest. Not bad for a 40 year old dude. Wish I would have let me put my 400 # DL in for the “imaginary” extended scale. Just waiting for them to tabulate the results and see if I won.

Okay, everyone knows me. I can’t turn down a challenge. Especially one with food. Well, I just happen to see the “Turning Blue Challenge The Cannon Brew Pub and was like. Yeah. I can do this. Well, I did it. I ate it all. Can’t say I feel that great right now, but I got a T-Shirt! 😂 I even had to sign a waiver. Maybe I should have read it. 🤔

After getting them sewn up and having the official ceremony tomorrow, it sort of seems surreal.

I honestly look back at all the Soldiers, NCOs, and Officers who selflessly busted their ass day in and day out to make my Team, Squad, Platoon, Company, and successful no matter what the mission was. I would never be where I’m at today without all of them. I wish I could Thank Them All Personally, but I I would be afraid I would leave one off.

So if you have ever served with me or beside me. I am eternally grateful for your service and dedication to this country. You are what make this country great and it was an honor to serve along side you.

What better time than a big break to start a new season. With scheduling issues for the BRC episodes (there are coming, don’t worry) I wanted to talk about something that I dealt with recently that I think many of you deal with as well. A loss of motivation or maybe a lack purpose.

During the training and the competition I had a very tangible purpose. A meaning to what I was doing. It literally consumed my day and every thought. But, now that the competition is over, I have free time and an unoccupied mind. And I can tell you. I struggled. I didn’t want to wake up. I didn’t want to workout. I got in the gym. I maintained my discipline (minus a BlackBerry Pie I crushed). But I can tell you, I felt fake to all of you. I didn’t have a drive. I was going through the motions.

So, how do we deal with these periods in our lives? How can we break the funk? Well Tune in Monday and see what steps I took, and hopefully find some things you can do to get that drive back in your life.

Okay, I’ve been focused solely on the Best Ranger Competition for the last 4 months. It’s time to get back to sharing life lessons and inspirational people. I learned so much in the last 4 months. We are going to do a 4 or 5 episode series on all the aspects of BRC. I want to bring in our coach and talk training, have my Great Partner talk the Competition, we worked closely with R2 on Ft. Benning and I want them to discuss the mental tricks games and recovery they helped us with to maximize our performance. So many things to cover. But I think everyone can benefit from them. Stay Posted and hopefully I can remember how to do this podcast thing.
