We've been holding onto this for longer than we'd like. It took a village to create Smoke and we couldn't be more thankful to everyone who had a part in it. So to the crew, cast, partners, and film community that did, thank you for helping bring this story to life. We hope Smoke's story encourages those struggling with their mental health to seek support when needed. And with that, please enjoy the official teaser for Smoke.

You’ve met the parents of Smoke, so let us introduce you to their kids Andy and Ali:

MEET ANDY:

Kolbe Garza, 8 years old, is the youngest of 3 boys and in the 3rd grade. He started acting on stage at the age of 4 with roles in Seussical Kids (2018), A Christmas Story ("Randy", 2019), and Frozen Jr. ("Olaf", 2022), amongst other productions. In 2020, Kolbe played the role of "Felix" in No More Goodbyes (Best Faith-based Feature Film, Burbank International Film festival, 2022). Kolbe also loves to sing, dance, do art & crafts, cook, swim & tumble. He is known to belt out some Dolly Parton, 80s rock, Broadway tunes, and Lady Gaga from time to time. Kolbe currently trains in Modeling, Acting & Hip Hop dance and is represented by The Campbell Agency and Take 3 Talent.

MEET ALl:

Yasmina Violeta is a Dallas native. She discovered her passion for acting at the age of 6 while on the set of the award-winning film, A Ghost Story, working directly with David Lowery and Casey Affleck. At the age of 9, she began studying acting with one of the top acting coaches in the nation at Cathryn Sullivan’s Acting for Film. Yasmina continues refining her skills in Cathryn’s varied Master Classes led by industry leaders such as Howard Meltzer, Hayley Orrantia, Cody Linley, and more. Yasmina has appeared in several film, radio, and commercial productions for HEB, JCPenney, and Dallas county in both English and Spanish. Yasmina greatly enjoys entertaining people which drives her to pursue acting as a career.

In her free time, Yasmina loves to travel the world, draw sketches, read books, play tennis, ride her bicycle on Dallas trails, and cooking with her mom. She uses her creativity to produce engaging reels on Instagram, becoming a micro-influencer, constantly growing her reach. Yasmina even manages a profile for her beloved turtle that she raised since he was a hatchling.

You’ve met Tanya, and we would like to introduce you yo Jesse. Meet the lead of Smoke,
David DeLaO is a Latino actor based out of the West Texas area. He received his BFA in Theater at Sul Ross State University and for the last 11 years has been in the crazy race people call acting.
Some of his credits include recurring roles in series such as Better Call Saul and From Dusk Till Dawn and films such as Silk Road and The Marksman. He recently wrapped on the series The Curse with Emma Stone and on the film Love Lies Bleeding with Ed Harris and Kristen Stewart.
He is a married to a wonderful wife and has 4 beautiful children. He is truly honored to be a part of this film and proud to work with Prelude Films.

Ladies and gents, meet one of the leads for Smoke, Anna Antonia.

Anna Antonia is thrilled to collaborate on this very important project. Her goal for this role is to make sure her performance reveals the mental load that spouses of first responders like her character, Tanya, carry on a daily basis. Anna has been studying acting for 4 years and has had the pleasure of working with the University of North Texas Media Arts program and local directors on a variety of projects including Bangin' Basmati Butter Chicken which will premiere at Urbanworld '22 in New York. When she's not acting, Anna is reading, learning High Valyrian, thinking about food, or enjoying time with her fiance and two dogs.

Smoke’s realism stems a lot from the partnership with the Allen Fire Department. Not only have they kindly allowed us to use their facilities for shooting, but their team members have given us an up-close view into the mind of a firefighter.

Take a look inside the training facility, where we will be filming one of the days. We filmed this in 2019 while working on a branded documentary for them.

We just launched a crowdfunding campaign for a short film called Smoke that we are producing.

It is about a firefighter returning home after the worst shift of his career. Our story is meant to open the discussion surrounding mental illness, and help front-line workers, deal with their mental health in a positive way.
