If you've been in business very long, you probably get a lot of messages that look like spam. "Promote it on ." And there is a LOT of spam out there! But that doesn't mean collaborating isn't a good idea. Just be particular, professional, depending on your goals, keep it local. Take the time to get to know the person, not just the brand. Not all of my clients are local…..but I always encourage peeps to connect with local businesses and vendors as much as possible! It does make solving problems and understanding needs so much easier.
You, your employees, your customers, your vendors…..all human. You can have high standards without unreasonable expectations or demands.
Did you know business card sales have fallen almost 70% over the last 18 months? Not really surprising... people still aren't getting together like we used to. Has anyone else gotten creative about making sure folks know how to contact you?
Brushing your teeth, checking in with your customers, assessing budgets, supporting your team......whatever daily habits you may have, I promise those are the ones that'll make the most impact in your business AND your life. For example: I take a few minutes every evening to look over my planner and prioritize my next day. Do you have any daily habits that help keep you on track? Or ones you know you need?
One question I get a lot from clients is about timing posts and there's no one size fits all here. It depends on your audience and their habits. Consider taking a look at your post insights to get a better idea of when your ideal customers are scrolling. Happy to walk you through how, just shoot me a message!
At the end of every month, I try to try to reflect on things that went well and NOT so well. Those "lesson learned" moments. I even try to write them down so that I can go back if a similar stich happens again. Did you have any of those moments this past month? I'd love the hear about it!

Having a big social media presence doesn't mean you have to have a big business: that part is up to you. But it can help grow your brand, your trust and the pool of customers you could have. If you want 'em.
I’ve got three kids and used to hear a LOT of complaints…..dinner, the way the socks were folded, our Internet sucks, you name it.
I instituted an amazing new rule about a year and half ago: if you complain about something, be ready with a helpful alternative, idea or solution. (You know they loved it 😊.)
I’ve been amazed how much it changes my own business mindset too. Focusing on solutions not only helps you find them faster, but gets your brain out of the negative loop that is so easy to get stuck in.
Mondays start with a clean desk for me! Taking the time Friday afternoon for a little reset helps me not work (too much) on the weekends and makes Monday morning go a lot smoother. Do you have a Monday routine that keeps you on task?

The more you are excited about a product (or service), the more likely you are to recommend and promote it. Well, ya! In the industry, we call that a Net Promoter Score. How do you think your customers would rate? Are you getting feedback to find out? How are you going above and beyond so they shout your praises from the rooftops?
Seriously, this has been such a strange time for a lot of professions, but our teachers have had some CHALLENGES. I, personally, feel incredibly fortunate that my kids have got some of the most dedicated and flexible people I know teaching them right now.

Can I get an Amen?! Small businesses usually do a lot of freebies for exposure, I get it! But that doesn’t mean you should honor every request for freebies and discounts. Teach people the value of your work and your time by charging appropriately for it. Thank me later.
Do lives and videos increase your social media visibility? Yes. Does that mean you have to? No. As long as you’re focused on what your ideal client responds to, don’t worry about the have to’s. No need to complicate what’s working for you!
Let’s talk schedulers! You don’t have to be on social 24/7 to be seen. There a ton of social media schedulers that let you work in bulk. For most clients, I’m planning a month of basics in one day. (The creation and strategy behind it is a longer process, natch!) Do you use a scheduler or do you wing it?
Curious how many folks out there have a daily to do list? I imagine a lot of you.
What about weekly? Are you also thinking about long term projects and goals? A lot of folks are just trying to keep their head above water with this whole pandemic shifting and changing. But don’t lose sight of alllll the things you wanted to do in your business. Or, more importantly, your life!

Maybe it's the post vacation effect, but I have felt in FULL BLOOM this week! Hitting goals, staying super focused, sticking to a schedule, eating better.....the whole nine yards. Anyone else have some brags they want to share?
I’m a creature of habit! Working from home has a lot of challenges, especially with kids. I set alarms to keep myself accountable AND to let everyone know when worktime has begun. Adding in a morning walk is pretty new for me, but it does help me start the day with a clear head. Do you keep a routine or go with the flow?

Planning vacation time can be rough when you're a small business owner! I like to do a big total shut down, but a lot of folks delegate what they can, but still do a little work on the side. Unfortunately, a lot of entrepreneurs just don't take any time off at all. What camp do you fall into?
I'm guessing whatever business you're in, you have competition. And some of those folks are more experienced, better than, funnier, more organized, younger, more connected (insert more useless comparisons here) than you.
But the truth is, there is only one you. And no one can be you quite like you can. Tap in and focus on that uniqueness today!
Reach (basically how many people see your post) is an important metric, both for understanding the size of your audience and being able to measure your growth. What other metrics do you pay attention to?
