Ol' Blackbead and his crew had a wonderful time at Shimmy on the Colorado! The facility was great, the people were fantastic, and the event was incredible! Thank you, Colleen and Donna, for a great weekend! Blackbead's Treasure Chest will sail this way again next year!

Happy Mother's Day, mom! Today, I remember Jerri Sanders, my mother. Mom raised four very talented sons and was also an acclaimed theater owner/director/producer/actor; a published poet; and an outstanding chef. I love you, mom, and "to live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." You live on in those of us who love you. Happy Mother's Day!

Last month, as part of the celebration of National Poetry Month, I had the privilege of giving a presentation on poetry to approximately 200 third graders at Ponder Elementary School in Ponder, Texas.
