I know lot of drivers here are pushing that magic number of 50+ So here is some good info if you want to use it...

Not me at Wendys, but too good not to share

At Wendy's recently I heard a guy ask for his senior discount. The girl at the register apologized and charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that seniors over age 55 ...get 10% off everything on the menu, every day. (But you need to ASK for your discount.)

Being of 'that' age myself, I figured I might as well ask for the discount too.
This incident prompted me to do some research, and I came across a list of restaurants, supermarkets, department stores, travel deals and other types of offers giving various discounts with different age requirements. I was actually surprised to see how many there are and how some of them start as young as 50.

This list may not only be useful for you, but also friends and family, too.

Dunkin Donuts gives FREE coffee to people over 55. If you're paying for a cup every day, you might want to start getting it FREE.

YOU must ASK for your discount!

A special mention of thanks to the FMCSA as being the majority contributor on these yearly increase of crash statistics 18 years running.

These key truck accident statistics clarify the rate of truck accidents.

In 2021, There Were Over Half a Million Large Truck Accidents Across the U.S.
Incidents with large trucks are frighteningly common. In 2021 alone, a total of 523,796 large truck accidents occurred across the United States.1 A year prior there were 415,444 incidents.2

The good news is the majority of truck accidents do not result in fatalities or even in injuries. A total of 310,000 of the collisions in 2020 involved property damage alone.2

Unfortunately, the bad news is, that still means 101,000 truck crashes caused injury over the course of that year with another 4,444 causing fatalities.2 Truck drivers and the companies that employ them may be held liable when a crash occurs and victims should do the necessary research to choose a truck accident lawyer if they or their loved ones were impacted by a crash.

Large Truck Accidents Increased by 26% From 2020 to 2021
The 523,796 incidents involving large trucks in 2021 is a substantial increase from 2020 when just 415,444 truck-related incidents occurred. The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting lockdowns in 2020 may have contributed to a reduction in truck-related collision incidents in 2020.2 With most of the country loosening coronavirus-related restrictions in 2021 and beyond, it is not surprising there were more crashes. There were more trucks and other motorists on the road.

Semi-Trailer Trucks Are Most Likely to Be Involved in a Fatal Accident
Truck accident statistics demonstrate that semi-trailers were more likely to become involved in deadly accidents than other types of trucks.

This doesn't apply to the Mega Carriers since developing the CSA SCORING SYSTEM. Those accident numbers are not public anymore keeping a Satisfactory Rating to continue operating. Hmmm imagine that.

The “Fair Compensation for Truck Crash Victims Act” would require the liability insurance minimum for interstate motor carriers to increase to $5M. Also: Family of slain trucker starts GoFundMe; Love's celebrating 60th anniversary; more.

Looking back at early 2016 to destroy all small Carriers and O/Os

A story we pushed to the forefront about who, what and why the big 3 and its CEOs were so hell Bent over the ELD proposal.

I share these in order for new folks coming into our Industry to fully understand not everything is as it seems. We all know "now" that this would never fly as a Bill of itself in Congress so they crammed it onto the MAP 21 infrastructure bill having nothing to do with Trucking whatsoever.

So the next time you see any article with a narrative of "A Trucking Industry Drivers Shortage" can refer to this strategy of sorts.

One must always read between the lines with any new proposals presented as the following will represent.

Not all things are shared. Most accomplishments are done behind the scenes without any pat on the back.

Posting a reply from this email to FMCSA regarding the ELD mandate being Unconstitutional. Cought them in a few lies as those who attended the rally will see.

////TRUCKERS SPEAK EMAIL////

Where in the Constitution of these United States of America do you get the Authority to create Law?

Secondly, Where do you get the Authority to Mandate something that is Completely Unconstitutional? The ELD Mandate?

Thirdly, We would like to petition for a 5/5 sleeper split, as that would work for a lot of Drivers, way better than the 8/2, 7/3 sleeper splits available now... Also you all need to really look at this 14 hour clock, as it is still a bad thing having this non stop clock running in our head, or counting down on the Unconstitutional ELD Mounted on our dash having to pay for ourselves.

We ask you FMCSA ....
What do you want Experienced Drivers to just Quit or Retire? Which has happened since 2018 at alarming numbers.

Like stated in 2017 the ELD is Unconstitutional, it Violates the 4th, and the 5th Amendment, along with some of the First Amendment on our Freedom of Speech... We must be the crazy ones who've stayed in an industry trying to put the small Owner Operators out of business.

////FMCSA REPLY///

Well it was answered this morning, and shot down again...

According to Bill Mahorney, with FMCSA it's been in front of the Supreme Court, and stands as Constitutional.

We drivers call it Bull S**t...

//// FMCSA Additional response///

The law was Congressionally mandated in the Moving Ahead for Progress Act for the 21st Century Act (MAP-21). Please understand that the ELD mandate is the law of the land, and it was litigated all they way up to the Supreme Court (the challenges were based on the same assertions you are stating here), whose decision reinforced its legality and its Constitutionality.

//////OUR COMMENT TO FALSE CLAIMS///

Lol 😂 Ummm actually it was inserted into an Infrastructure bill labeled MAP 21 which was never read or considered. Just signed due to the norm of Congressional ignorance when bills are presented and have on average 5000 plus pages. Historically speaking, most All Bills presented before Congress are summarized very poorly before a vote is made.

October 3rd through 8th 2017 while in Washington DC Operation Black and Blue members all went to visit our representatives and almost all had no idea about the ELD MANDATE.
