UPDATE: Police provided an update around 11:40 a.m. notifying residents that the gas leak had been fixed and residents were able to return to their homes and businesses.
Police posted on Facebook Thursday morning that a gas main at the intersection of W. Park Drive and N. Lafontaine Street was struck. Construction is currently happening along a stretch of W. Park Drive.
The Huntington Police Department worked to evacuate residents within a one-block area of the gas main due to the leak.

Lowe’s is scaling back its diversity, equity and inclusion policies, joining the ranks of other companies that altered their programs since the U.S. Supreme Court outlawed affirmative action in college admissions or after facing a conservative backlash online.
In an internal memo shared by Lowe’s with The Associated Press, its executive leadership said the retailer began “reviewing” its programs following a Supreme Court ruling in 2023.
