The signature blue lighthouse has marked the site for decades. The Clyde Theatre is to the west in Quimby Village. A pivotal moment plays out late in the musical "Newsies" at Homestead High School. The final show takes place at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15. Enter the school through Door 2. Tickets are $15 and are available at the auditorium door. The musical marks the final production at the 50-year-old auditorium, which will be relocated during the ongoing reconstruction process. Indiana Gov. Eric J. Holcomb is directing flags in the State of Indiana to be flown at half-staff in remembrance of the one million American lives lost to COVID-19.

Per President Biden's order, flags should be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset on Monday, May 16. Holcomb is asking businesses and residents in Indiana to lower their flags.

Two educators within Fort Wayne Community Schools were surprised on May 11 with Teacher of the Year awards.

Caroline Rosado, a 5th grade teacher at Weisser Park Elementary School, was given the FWCS Elementary Teacher of the Year award and Thomas Maupin, the director of the Allure and Charisma Show Choirs at Northrop High School, was awarded the FWCS Secondary Teacher of the Year award.

Rain postpones game; TinCaps plan double-header tonight, April 14

he Fort Wayne TinCaps and South Bend Cubs had their scheduled game Wednesday night at Parkview Field postponed by rain. The teams now are set to play a doubleheader at Parkview Field tonight, April 14. Game 1 will start at 6:05 p.m. Both games are planned for seven innings, with approximately 30 minutes between games.
Gates open to fans at 5:35 p.m. Tonight will feature $2 domestic draft beers and other drink specials, presented by Rudy's Shop.

Fans who had a ticket for Wednesday may redeem their ticket for a future game at Parkview Field during the 2022 regular season. Tickets must be exchanged at the Parkview Field Ticket Office.
