Atmosphere have carved out quite a following the past 30 years as underground hip-hop artists.

The duo of Sean "Slug" Daley and Anthony "Ant" Davis will be at Clyde Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 1, with Sage Francis and Mr. Dibbs for a show you won't soon forget as they celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their album "You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having."

“There’s a lot more beauty in this album than I ever knew,” Daley said in an interview with Whatzup. “It’s just that now I’m putting it through the filter of who I am today, it’s able to show this beauty. The fact that I’m a lot more open about my anxiousness or a lot more open about who I am and how I feel about stuff, I’m able to articulate it better than when I was younger.”

The underground hip-hop duo Atmosphere, comprised of Slug and Ant, will be at The Clyde Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Some of the city's top bands will be at The Brass Rail on Friday, Jan. 31, to capture the sound of the late Cliff Gaither, half of the duo Cornfed Johnson.

“I wanted to kind of try to capture maybe a little bit of what his sound was like: Not just have a bunch of his friends play. Kind of, within bands in this town, try to come up with what he would sound like. It’s more about what he sounded like, his kind of influences," said organizer "Cornfed," the other half of the two-man band.

For those with $8 and are at least 21 years old, the night will deliver you the musical stylings of Cornfed's one-man band White Trash Compactor, as well as Left Lane Cruiser, Pete Dio and the Old & Dirty, and Squirrel Cage.

Fort Wayne bands White Trash Compactor, Left Lane Cruise, Squirrel Cage, and Pete Dio and the Old and Dirty pay tribute to Cliff Gaither.

The Fort Wayne premiere of the play "5 Le****ns Eating a Quiche" will be presented by First Presbyterian Theater.

Opening Friday, Jan. 24, the show depicts five women attending a monthly quiche breakfast. While awaiting the winning quiche announcement, atomic bomb sirens are heard outside, leading to secrets and repressed desires being revealed.

“There’s clearly some dynamic friendships between these ladies. It’s really sort of about community and finding your tribe, for lack of a better word. I think that’s what I gravitated to most in the play," director Reuben Albaugh said.

It's the time of year when the parking lot at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum fills with school buses of kids, as well as carloads of families for the Mizpah Shrine Circus.

“When we say the circus is for all ages, it really is,” committee member Michael Hardiek said. “I love when I can see a family show up, from young children to their grandparents, and they all smile and watch the show together."

This year's circus will include five shows from Jan. 24-26.

Over the course of five shows from Friday, Jan. 24, to Sunday, Jan. 26, Memorial Coliseum will be filled by the Mizpah Shrine Circus.

They may not have the highest budgets, best acting, or special effects, but 1980s horror B-movies do have a cult following.

Among those fans are local band Night Killer, who have dedicated their setlist to the slasher films and have released a three-song EP, "Nightmare: Prelude."

They are included in this month's Local Band Beat column, alongside news from The Namby Pamby, The Alt Vault, Corporate Circus , Bad Money, Downstait, and Humans Among Us.

Night Killer are a curious little outfit that play ’80s-style p***y glam metal that’s based strictly on B-movies.

Trivia nights are popular gatherings for friends, but what if you knew that night was going to be your last?

Arena Dinner Theatre examines that scenario in their upcoming production of "The Last Quiz Night on Earth," which opens Friday, Jan. 17, and runs three weekends through Saturday, Feb. 1.

“It does get very emotional. I see it as a dramedy," director Emily Caudill said. "A little bit of drama, a little bit of comedy in there. It really is kind of intense sometimes and very real. The arguments and relationships are very real things that a lot of people experience.”

Arena Dinner Theatre is here to help with The Last Quiz Night on Earth from Jan. 17-Feb. 1 at their intimate historic venue.
