Here's some of the stuff I do to record drums, as far as my mic setup goes. The "eccentric" stuff is all stuff that I learned from Mark Everetts.
CORRECTIONS OF THINGS I EXPLAINED INCORRECTLY
The length of a 50 Hz wave is about 20 feet, 20 Hz is about 18, the mic at 5 ft from source adds air to the kick, because it catches the fundamental of 50 Hz. Glyn Johns was the producer and engineer for several bands, including The Who and Led Zeppelin.
