Hid in my Heart

Hid in my Heart Discover a simple, effective way to hide God's Word in your heart—perfect for busy Christian women and teens! Hey! Welcome to my little spot on the web.

My name is Kara, and I am a wife, mother to two amazing kiddos (that have grown me way more than I've helped grow them), an animal lover, and a passionate DAUGHTER OF THE KING. The Lord has not only forgiven my past completely (Col. 2:14), but HE has given me eternal life (John 3:15-16)! Praise God!

to know more, please hit the message button!! Our sweet family has moved 8 times in the past 17 years. I am a lover of crafts, painting, woodworking, sewing, embroidery, gardening, home DIY projects, and so much more. We moved from Ohio to Alabama in 2021 and I set out (on my own volition) to build a paint studio as I had done in Ohio. I wanted to bring that happiness and joy and encouragement to local women and give them a place to come and get lost in their creativity. Guess what?! God had a different plan! As soon as I realized that the reason He was not blessing my studio here was because I was not seeking his guidance and letting him guide my steps, by his grace, he led me a different way. I have been saved by grace, through faith for 30 years, but it wasn't until last year when I was questioning why He moved us here did he help me walk into a room full of people I didn't know and start diving deep into His word. Over the last year he has revealed to me that he moved us here and that was to draw not only me, but our whole little family back to him and into a deeper relationship with him. Just wondering... can you see how he has worked in your past and re-directed your steps? That being said, I am stepping out in faith and joining my heavenly father in the new journey he has set me on to help other women hide his word (which never returns void - Is. 55:10-11) into their hearts so they are armed and ready for the attacks Satan has for us each and every day. Did you realize that everyday is full of nothing but spiritual attacks? Those messy relationships, the work you do, etc. are all spiritual attacks and you get to choose if you will lean on God and seek his peace, wisdom, guidance, and understanding or if you will join the chaos and they to fight the battle on your own. The thief (devil) comes (active-tense) to steal, kill & destroy (John 10:10) and 1 Peter 5:8 reminds us that "Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." Friends, this prowling is on-going! The sword of the spirit (the Bible) is our only weapon of offense in the Armor of God. "The sword is a powerful and significant weapon. It is absolutely used in defense and protection when an enemy is aggressively charging the armed soldier. But the sword is also used in offense when the armed one advances into battle. Many want to believe that since Jesus defeated Satan on the cross, all we are expected to do is stand. A belief has developed that if we stand around with our hands in our pockets, evil will somehow not bother us or our society. But this is not what Paul was trying to convey. The word used for “stand” in this Scripture is an active tense. Standing does not mean we are stagnant and do nothing; it is an action stance we are to take to overcome the strongman and advance the Kingdom of God. Spiritual warfare is not just a defensive act; it is an offensive action and stance that obtains victory." (quoted from: https://bit.ly/offensivearmorofgod)

God calls us to abide in him. (John 15:4-7) "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." The way that we communicate with God is through prayer. The way that God communicates with us is through his word. We are so fortunate to live in a country where we still have access to his word and can read it, search it, and apply it to our everyday lives as we grow to understand his character and his ways more and more. That gift is not to be taken lightly. What if one day we no longer have access to this amazing love story in the physical form of a Bible? What if all we have is what we have hidden in our hearts? Many Christians are forced to live like this every day and all they have is the scripture that is given to them and it memorized (hidden in their heart) for safe keeping. What if all the scripture you will ever get is what you currently have hidden in your heart? (Ps. 119: 11 - I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.) Is your sword large enough to fight against the powers of Satan? I know mine isn't! I would love it if you would join me on this journey of memorizing scripture so that we are equipped to fight the battle God has called us to. This is a spiritual discipline that draws us closer to and helps us uncover more and more of God's heart and character. I pray that you will ask him if this is a discipline you need to work on and if so, that you will not let another day go by without being obedient to the calling.

It's Worship Wednesday!

There are so many ways that we can worship our Savior. Some of those ways include teaching, giving, praying, scripture reading, Bible study, acts of kindness, gratitude, and pure thoughts.

How can you stop right now, where you are, and worship Him?
