If you're a musician and would like to learn about publishing, licensing, and music distribution, comment below. We're scheduling more community "Labs" this year and licensing/publishing music could be topic, if there's any interest.

Back in 2012 when we started the studio, I filled blank gaps with writing and producing stock music.

Many years later these old tracks still pop up in my royalty statements and license through channels. The Data Age makes it easier to track where these songs live in the world. Sometimes one usage will catch your eye, and you can tell that the particular song and video were a natural fit.

Kudos to the director/dp/editor (whomever you are) and to Chandler Williams for finding his passion as a photographer. This song recorded in 2010(?) finds a match in 2023 and shows up on tracking reports in 2025. Music is a weird business.

Studio Synth Meet yesterday brought out these fun rigs and more! A nice overview of the Voltage Lab 2 by Zach. Four hours of samples were made. New group project hatched.

Synth Meets are a small group of "synthesizer enthusiasts" that bring rare and unusual devices for others to try and discuss. It's social. Sometimes jams happen. Sometimes we record things. Sometimes a person does a presentation to explain their device.

No real agenda this meet. Bring a synth or just drop by and check out what others have brought. BYOB but studio provides coffee, tea, water, etc.

Its 100% true.

Drum sounds through our new Trident 88 are the best I've ever recorded. Punchy and Fat. The real fun part is their EQ. You can push it hard but it remains musical. A quad of Neve compressors on the inserts doesnt hurt either.

Booking sessions now! Full albums to EPs. Singles, demos, or just drums. They all sound better through our Trident 88.

Joe dusts off the music tech lecture material and opens up the studio for group learning events on various topics. Mixing, Mastering, Drum recording, Synth programing and sound design. Wooo... the audio and dialog on this commercial sounds AMAZING! Wonder who recorded that on location? They must have a lot of experience working on dynamic sets, and good equipment ready for any challenge.

Earlier this year we recorded a loop group of actors for Krotos Audio. They have released the preset for Krotos Studio, and the final quality of the project is incredible. Excellent work from the actors to the preset designers to the program developers.

Major compressor upgrade is almost the final piece in the puzzle. RND >> BLA. Still need one patchbay and a few cables, and we're done with the front end upgrades.
