The imposed sanctions on the 136-meter superyacht M/Y Flying Fox have been lifted, enabling the vessel to be chartered globally once again.
Originally sanctioned under Executive Order 14024 on April 15, 2021, due to its ties to the Russian government, the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has determined that circumstances no longer warrant the yacht's inclusion on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List. This decision was announced on September 10, 2024.
M/Y Flying Fox was sanctioned following the intensification of the war between Russia and Ukraine. At that time, its management, Imperial Yachts, was named in a statement by the U.S. Treasury. Although the yacht was made available for charter with Bluewater Yachting in January 2024, restrictions on U.S. citizens and its waters remained in place until now.
Built by Lürssen and delivered in 2019, M/Y Flying Fox measures 446 feet, accommodating 22 guests across eight double cabins and three twin cabins, with a crew of 55. The vessel has a cruising speed of 15 knots, and charter rates are set at €3,000,000 per week, according to Bluewater Yachting.
