cinematic stories that highlight the human experience. The 1310 Bandits is led by filmmaker, Tabatha Mudra, whose first film, Souvenir, won Best Film in the 2015 48 Hour Film Project Miami. Souvernir swept six additional awards, including Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Directing, Best Sound Design, Best Musical Score and Best Audience Choice. Our current team focus is on cinematographic visuals that imply a strong message. Our commitment is to create cinematic environments that highlight south florida landscapes and mixed-media props. We choose stories that we all feel connected to and thus become heavily invested in and passionate about the process of making our film.

Reaching out to you because I need help casting this awesome short film. We were SAG, but then we got hit with a massive COVID rapid testing fee, (all cast & crew are negative), so now we are Non-Union.

This is a RUSH casting call: self-tapes must be sent in by Monday, Aug 3, 5 pm for review. The sooner, the better chance of booking.

We are filming next Thursday, Aug 6, Friday, Aug 7 & Saturday, Aug 8 in various locations in the Miami area. Rate: $125 per day. We are looking for local non-union actors to cast the following roles:

BILL AYERS:

Caucasian, Late 20’s. The leader of what would eventually

become “The Weather Underground”, a radical left political group that would

top FBI’s Most Wanted List. Walks into the room with presence and

dominance; the swagger of a lion. Charming & coy. Educated. Polite.

1 Day of Filming

POOL KING/ GEORGE STAR:

Caucasian, 40's. Twin Brothers (played by one actor.)

Pool King is the leader of the "Swim Club". He is eclectic, stoic, yet a flamboyant fashion icon, (think Elton John), with aqua blue hair and lime green eyeliner.

Dr. George Star is a powerful person in the government. He is a cheesy, dorky, straight edge man, with slicked back black hair, wearing a lab coat and tie.

3 Days of Filming

ELEANOR:

Caucasian, 40s-50s. Lucy's mother. She is a drunk and emotionally abusive, due to her strong anti-motherhood views. Wants to protect & preserve her femininity and youth. A strongly outspoken feminist. She is always seen with an orange soda bottle in her hand

1 Day of Filming

PAUL:

Caucasian, 40s-50's, Lucy's father. A drunk, along with his wife Eleanor, but slightly more sensible than Eleanor. In a failing and toxic marriage and becomes complacent.

MARK RUDD:

20’s, Caucasian, Mark Rudd is part of Bill Ayers crew. They are rebels fighting the American Dream. An extreme activist, very opinionated. During a party with Bill, he is sharing his views to a group of girls as they sip their drinks. They find him cool and interesting, but he gets lost & caught up in a preachy rant.

The self-tape should be a full-body view, with a flat, blank background, with clear audio. (Any color attire is fine, as long as they are not wearing the same color shirt or pants, i.e. white t-shirt, white background/black pants, black background.)

Taping Slate:

"Hi, My name is __________, I'm___Height___ tall, and auditioning for the role of _____________."

They should turn to these positions for 3 secs each: default looking at the camera (full face forward), then profile (only side of face, any side), then back to default. If they can have someone else reading the other lines, that works best, but not required!

We encourage ALL talent to be COVID tested, as we are enforcing all SAG/FilmFlorida Safety Guidelines.

Our current team focus is on cinematographic visuals that imply a strong message. Our commitment is to create cinematic environments that highlight south florida landscapes and mixed-media props. We choose stories that we all feel connected to and thus become heavily invested in and passionate about the process of making our film.
