Orobeat is a jazz-funk group from Fort Collins, CO. Synths, guitar, bass, and drums drive the groove. Greg Douras is the band leader. Their songs are inspired by classic funk such as Herbie Hancock, George Clinton, and newer groups like Medeski, Martin, & Wood, Charlie Hunter, the Du-Rites, and the Sorcerers.
Up and coming, Orobeat is starting to garner attention. They’ll be playing The Magic Rat in Fort Collins, CO on November 6th for KRFC’s monthly Happy Hour.

Today’s Colorado Artist of the Day is… Andrew Vogt!
Andrew Vogt started playing Saxophone in elementary school in Lincoln, Nebraska. Since then, he has added clarinet and flute to his arsenal and has performed professionally at well over 5,000 events. He earned a degree in music from the University of Nebraska and is now a freelance musician/music educator in Fort Collins, Colorado. In the late 1990s, Andrew was one of the top musicians competing for the Cognac Hennessy Jazz Challenge. He then spent three years sailing the seas on cruise ships performing every night for hundreds of guests. At the turn of the new millennium, he moved his horns and himself to the beautiful land of Colorado. Andrew specializes in high-energy, exciting jazz but also performs in a variety of different funk, soul, and R&B bands.

Greeley’s first-ever outdoor mural festival, WeldWalls, is making its mark on the City’s public art landscape this Fall. The five-day festival will take place September 17 – 21, adding a collection of new large-scale murals to Downtown Greeley. The festival is being produced by artist manager and creative entrepreneur Briana Harris and visual artist Armando Silva, both long-time residents of Greeley and members of its creative community.
Briana Harris is a musician, artist manager, and creative entrepreneur with a focus on empowering creatives to do their best work. A versatile creator and collaborator, Bri has credits as a saxophonist, singer, songwriter, producer, arranger, and composer.

KRFC 88.9 FM Fort Collins is a community-based, not-for-profit radio station located in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. The station is owned and operated by Public Radio for the Front Range and our programming is composed of a diverse group of volunteer DJs, whose genres are as distinctive as they are.
There’s something for everyone’s listening pleasure at KRFC 88.9 FM, as we are not constrained by membership to major networks such as NPR or Pacifica. KRFC 88.9 FM serves music and public affairs aficionados featuring an eclectic mix of in-person, broadcast and online programming. In so doing, KRFC 88.9 FM operates an influential, listener-supported public radio station.
Not only do we feature a variety of musical genres—from rock to hip-hop, blue grass to county, classical and so much more—our programming is a source of community-oriented information and cultural enrichment, as well. Focused on local, public affairs, we provide an information source for northern Colorado. Human interest stories, real time news and public affairs programming provide a listening option to a world-wide audience.
Our facilities in the heart of The Music District in Fort Collins allows KRFC FM 88.9 FM to host a wide variety of community events and produce hundreds of live performances—many of which are open to the public at no charge.
