life in boulder so far ✨

If you would’ve told me at the start of the year that we’d move from Fort Collins to Boulder in a month, I wouldn’t have believed you.

But then again… we are pretty impromptu so I’m actually not that surprised 🤪 especially since van life, we have learned it pays off to say yes to new opportunities & adventures!

As much as I love Fort Collins… it’s not going anywhere (and it’s only an hour away lol). Excited to see what’s in store for us in Boulder & explore all the new trails here! 🥰

Things I wish I knew 🏔️🎒

Some of these may seem obvious, but they weren’t to me as a total beginner. I had a rough first backpacking experience in 2018. My shoulders hurt from using my husband’s old backpack, and I was exhausted from hiking my first 14’er that morning. I swore it wasn’t for me and I’d never go again! 🙅🏼‍♀️

Thankfully I tried it again 4 years later and had a much better experience 🧡

Backpacking felt intimidating to me as a beginner, so I often relied on my friends to handle everything (my biggest mistake).

If you take time to prepare and educate yourself on the trail, gear, permits, etc., you will have a much more enjoyable (and safe) time!

It was the most I’ve felt like ME in months! Feeling optimistic for what 2025 will bring as we prepare to move & start a new adventure in the coming week (more to come on this)!!

shredding the gnar 🤘 …or something like that! At least I made it off the lift & down greens without falling. My 3rd time skiing was the most fun I’ve had yet! Learning new hobbies as an adult requires a lot of determination & humility, but I’m starting to get the hang of it & can’t wait to get back out this season ⛷️

Are you a snow lover? 🏔️

I usually go into hibernation mode once the cold & snow hit, but I’m trying to go into this time of year with a more positive mindset & keep getting outside this year!

Here’s what I’m thinking…
🥾 Snowy hikes
🌲 Snowshoeing
🐶 Morning walks with Willow
👟 Lunch runs
⛷️ Ski lessons round 2 (maybe… 😜)

Your journey is your own 🧡

We are often told growing up that if we go to college, get a 9-5, buy a house as soon as possible, and settle down, then we’ll be happy.

I’m not sure who decided this formula was the key to everyone’s happiness 😅 but I’m here to remind you that happiness doesn’t come from following someone else’s path or society’s expectations.

And I’ve found life is A LOT more fun when I take risks and don’t know what the next chapter will be 🤷🏼‍♀️

Here’s to living your life because it’s the one YOU choose and makes you happy - whether it follows the traditional path or not!
