Congratulations John Holcomb. You will be an awesome Interim Chief and hopefully permanent Chief.

Following the resignation of Fire Chief Derek Briggs, the City of Forney is pleased to announce the appointment of John Holcomb as Interim Fire Chief of the Forney Fire Department.

Interim Chief Holcomb has been a dedicated member of the Forney Fire Department since 2010, serving in various leadership roles, including Fire Marshal, Assistant Chief, and Deputy Fire Chief/Emergency Management Coordinator. He brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to the position, complemented by several fire related certifications. These include the Fire Executive Management Training Program from the Leadership and Executive Management Institute (LEMIT), Certified Fire Executive designation through the Texas Fire Chiefs Academy, and an Executive Planning Certification from the National Fire Academy.

The City of Forney will provide updates on the recruitment process for the next Fire Chief in the coming weeks.

🚨Youth Sports Announcement 2.0🚨

The man behind all things baseball and softball with the Parks and Recreation Department, Randy Kennedy! Randy has been with our staff for quite some time and serves as the lead coordinator for both of our youth softball and baseball leagues. Every year we have people wanting to register AFTER the deadlines, so please do so before January 26th. In addition, if you have a son or daughter that is looking for a part-time job, this spring, the Parks and Recreation is in search of field crew aids to help with the baseball and softball games.
