The Charlton County Herald is a community newspaper serving Folkston, Homeland, St. The paper is published weekly, placed on newsstands Tuesday evening and delivered to our subscribers by mail on Wednesdays, except when postal holidays alter the schedule. The Herald's news coverage focuses primarily on Charlton County, its cities and communities, as well as broader issues affecting its residents. Circulation is approximately 3,000. The Herald is the legal organ for Charlton County.

Charlton County Schools will re-open for students and staff tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1. We understand that some families are still without power. For those that are still affected by the storm, please know that we understand and fully expect you to make taking care of your family your primary concern. NOTICE FROM THE CHARLTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS…

Charlton County Government Offices will be closing Thursday, September 26th at
12:00 PM (noon) due to Tropical Storm Helene. All Offices will reopen on Monday, September 30th, 2024, for normal business hours.

We hope everyone stays safe in this storm and apologize for any inconvenience the office closure may cause.
