🗣PSA: Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, friends, please be considerate of the space, needs, and wants of the person you’re buying gifts for this season.

Before you buy, ask yourself a few questions:
1. Do they need it?
2. Do they want it?
3. Do they have space for it?
4. Am I just buying this to fill a void of some sort (either not being able to see them enough or missing out on something special)?
5. Can my money be spent on something more meaningful for them?

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY‼️And it’s always a good idea to ask the parents (or anyone you’re buying a gift for) what they really want for Christmas (or whatever occasion). Experience gifts are always great for any age! (Movie tickets, concert tickets, museum passes, zoo passes, date night, dinner out, etc) 🎁 . .

We visited one of our sweetest clients yesterday and organized her primary closet. She lost her husband a while ago and she’s been working on cleaning out his things. This is never an easy thing to do no matter how much time has passed. After pulling everything out of the closet (& I forgot to get pictures before we started pulling his stuff out), we sorted his items into categories to be given to the kids/grandkids, their church, donations, and keepsakes.

The closet has an odd setup (and some of the wire shelves have already fallen off), so we reorganized with her items to be more functional and efficient for her. We utilized two racks that are easier to reach for her (one for pants and one for tops) and left the other racks empty as to not crowd the space.

We appreciate the opportunity to help our clients through the different stages in life, whether it’s welcoming a new baby, moving to a new home, loosing a loved one, or just everyday organizing and space planning. We hope to ease the stress and overwhelm when it comes to dealing with these things for our clients. 🫶🏼 . .

’Tis the season to give. 🤲🏼 This is a great time to declutter clothes, toys, electronics, and anything else you’re not using anymore or have outgrown (physically, emotionally, or spiritually).

Remember, holding onto things doesn’t return the money you spent on them. That money is gone and will not be regained by the item taking up space in your home. “Letting go isn’t a loss, but a step towards a more intentional life.” - Joshua Becker

There are many people out there who would love and could benefit greatly from your donations, so please don’t let them sit and take up space in your home.

Also, if giving to an individual, make sure they want or need it. There’s nothing worse than transferring your clutter to someone else who doesn’t want it 🙄 . . .

This sweet friend/client recently suffered a great loss. An out of town friend of hers reached out to me to gift her an organizing session since she couldn’t physically be here for her during this difficult time. Yesterday, we spent the morning putting her closet, bedroom, and bathroom back in order. ❤️‍🩹

Losing a loved one (especially unexpectedly) can put you in a tailspin you think you may never recover from. Often times friends and family members struggle to find ways to offer help and bring comfort during these difficult times. Gifting some sort of home service (organizing, cleaning, meal delivery, etc) can be such a blessing during these times.

However, please make sure if you are gifting an organizing session, that the recipient is open to this service and won’t feel pressured or ashamed by your gift. This was a longtime client of mine and her friend knows how much better she feels after an organizing session. Depending on the circumstances, it might not always be perceived that way and the last thing I want is someone wasting money on a gift that will never be used. 🫶🏼 . .

Seriously, I’ve seen it all. If I was scared I would have changed professions long ago! The fact is we LOVE what we do. We LOVE helping our clients conquer the things they can’t do on their own. We LOVE bringing a new perspective and insight into our clients homes to help them find solutions that work. We LOVE the satisfaction of accomplishing a big goal that our clients feel just can’t be done. We LOVE seeing our clients smile and breathe easier after letting go of years worth of worry and stress. We LOVE removing unwanted clutter to help our clients live an easier life. We LOVE it all so much, that the good outweighs the bad. The smiles and relief of our clients far outweigh any dust, grime, dirt, or dead insect we might uncover. And I’m not saying that for shock value, I’m saying that because it’s true!!

We loved creating order in the most precious baby boutique in Florence! 🍼🎀

At the consultation, we discussed adding more shelf units to create some structure so bins aren’t stacked on top of each other. After getting measurements, I shopped for 5 shelf units that we installed to fill in the gaps where there were no shelves.

At the session, we discovered an extra wire shelf that we added to one of the wire wall units, as well as, two rods that we added to create a better flow for hanging items. (Before the clothes were hung on the outer edge of the wire shelf, now they are hung on a rod under the shelf and can easily slide back and forth.)

We created a massive “shoe wall” so that all shoes are stored together on one wall. (Before, the bulk of the shoes were hiding behind the hanging clothes, difficult to see and access.)

All toy items are now located together in one area, hair accessories and hats are together, and seasonal items are together. This new setup will be easier to maintain, take inventory, and will make locating items so much easier! 💛 . .

We helped our client clear out this garage that had accumulated several different family members belongings over the years.

The home belonged to our client’s in-laws and after they passed furniture and other items got moved to the garage to “go through later”. Adult kids moved in and out and their extra things got put in the garage for “temporary storage”. Meanwhile, our client began a renovation on their own basement, so all of the items stored there had to be temporarily moved to this garage.

Time passes, life gets busy, and things get pushed to the side. Our client was finally ready to move their items back to their basement, make decisions on the in-laws items, and have the adult children go through their belongings.

We understand the overwhelm that comes with a task like this. You open the door and stare into the mountain of decisions that have to be made… Our goal is to make this process easier for our clients by pulling everything out, creating categories, and helping them make decisions based on the conditions of the items, current lifestyle, storage space, future goals, etc.

We want to encourage our clients to be intentional with the items they keep and store. Sometimes it’s easier to just say “keep it” without really thinking through why we’re keeping it. Taking the time to be thoughtful with what we hold onto, not only for the “why” we’re keeping it, but also for the “way” we’re keeping it. If it’s a truly sentimental item, but your storing it in a cardboard box in the garage, it’s going to be exposed to insects, rodents, and possibly mold and water damage that could ruin that sentimental item. Helping our clients think through these scenarios, make intentional decisions, and handle their items with care is extremely important to us. 💛 . .

Yesterday’s garage org and declutter for our client. 🚙

This is a good time to note that we are limiting our garage sessions moving forward. We have a few more scheduled in the coming weeks, but will be focusing more on interior spaces in our client’s homes. 🏡

Garage sessions will be determined on a case-by-case basis, but will mostly be reserved for returning clients and multi-space clients (meaning we are doing more than one room in the home).

Don’t worry though, if you are in need of garage decluttering and organizing and we aren’t able to accommodate you, we have a fantastic referral for you! . .

Friday we visited one of our favorite clients, Ashley Morrow and whipped her garage into shape! ✨ She reached out to see if we could help create some order and organization for all of her holiday and home decor items that are stored in her garage. She has a lot of beautiful decor and greenery items but couldn’t access any of it or even see what all she had (much less have a path to walk thru the garage). We sorted all of the holiday specific items into bins and created zones on the shelves for each season/holiday (Christmas, Fall, Easter, etc). On the large table, we displayed all of the non-holiday specific decor and greenery so she can see what all she has and easily swap out her decor as she pleases. Ashley is always such a pleasure to organize for because she’s so appreciative of our work and willing to share with all of social media! We brought some order back to this sweet family’s home today as they welcomed a new baby into the world. We sorted and organized all the kids clothes, sorted out the kids rooms, and the family room (pictured here). The appreciation and gratitude from our clients when they’re overwhelmed and stuck means the world to us! 💛

We loved sorting out this sweet client’s closet today. 💛 She did an amazing job of letting go of so many items she no longer needs or wears, which made organizing this space a breeze! We created categories for her hanging clothes, reorganized and folded the clothes in the drawers, categorized the shoes by style and color, and dropped off an suv load of donations for her! 💛
