The Takin' Care of Business Podcast is back from its summer hiatus today. On today’s program I’ll be talking about why I needed to take a break from the program this summer, all the exciting things happening at Crown Trophy of Flemington and I’ll talk about revenge quitting as well as why more people are needed in trades jobs than ever before. It’s Thursday, September 4th, 2025, and I’ll have all that and more today at 1:00PM on my show Takin’ Care of Business with Jim Gano brought to you by PNC Bank. And you can watch and listen to the program by logging onto the show's page Takin' Care of Business with Jim Gano.

I'll talk to you then.

Looking forward to getting back on the air. Lots to talk about.

This is really neat. I received this message from a friend who helps coordinate a huge Cancer fundraiser called Dance For The Cure. She is taking differeent things mentioned in my book to create a basket to be bid on.
Dear Jim,
I purchased your book I’m Not Done Yet a few months ago, and this past weekend I finally had the chance to sit down and read it. I’ve always considered myself a slow reader, but I found myself breezing through yours in just three sittings. Like a fine glass of red wine, your words went down smoothly and held my attention.
What struck me most was the way you approached a difficult subject with honesty, humor, and lightness. Your reflections on positivity resonated with me and mirrored much of the approach I’ve taken—and continue to take—on my own cancer journey. I consider each new day a blessing to be celebrated. My mantra is: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift.” Unlike many, I truly love celebrating my birthday, an anniversary I will never take for granted.
Your book’s message is powerful, uplifting, and inspirational.
As you may recall, this is my busy time of year when I immerse myself in creating beautiful baskets for the breast cancer charity I volunteer for. This year, I’ve decided to create an “I’m Not Done Yet” basket in your honor. Inside the basket, I’m including your book, a lap blanket with inspirational quotes, a box of shortbread cookies, a bag of Life Saver candies, and a gift certificate for a relaxing massage.
The only things missing are a personal note and signature inside the book, as well as one of your “challenge” coins. Would you be able to help me with these two missing items?
Again, a great read for the person beginning and living through their own cancer journey!
Regards,
A
The book and challenge coin are on their way, and thank you for doing this in my honor.
