The Crab Man 97.3 Flagler Surf Radio Welcome to Cosmic Debris, and I am your host, The Crab Man. Flagler Surf Radio 97.3

10/03/2024

Today is Thursday, my last "daytime" show until I switch to Monday evenings (7pm-9). Hopefully I will be able to bring something fresh to the table for your listening pleasure, at least those are my hopes. Music, as you may have come to realize, has been and still is my most passionate vice. The more I listen, the more I want and the further away I have to stay from people that say things like " todays music sucks". Are you insane?? The new artists that are coming out have ALL the influences of yesteryears. Since I've been at the station, my appreciation for Bluegrass has just exploded. Why?, because of all the influences that the players had been exposed to in shaping their craft has changed the fabric of "Bluegrass" as so many think it is. Stay open minded, explore the possibilities of finding new bands, new music and don't stop, ever. Music is life's gift to all of us, grab on like it's a wild pony and enjoy the ride. Thank you everyone, for your continued support. See you on Mondays.

Well, it's been coming on for a while but has finally arrived. I am stepping away from the show and going on to new adventures. Not leaving the station, instead maybe doing a 2 hour show on Monday evenings. That is still in discussion, but either way, I have had a great year playing music, sharing my thoughts and words of encouragement with you all. Thanks for hanging with me for this past year, It's meant a lot to know that you all have been out there. There's still so much that I want to do (while I'm physically able), that's basically why I'm giving up my slot during the week. I will reach out when plans are finalized for the continuation of " Cosmic Debris". As always, stay hip and groovy, do something kind for someone and remember to turn off the news, de-clutter your home and above all else, listen to great music. Tomorrow is my last show in this time slot. Stay in touch.... Crabman.

This weekend's music in St. Augustine was off-the-chain... Molly Tuttle, Ole 60 and JJ Grey caught my attention. The big surprise for me was several bands that played in Colonial Oaks yesterday. The Rip Currents(surf instrumental) and "One Good Ring" (Grateful Dead band) knocked it out of the park. Three lead guitar players and a drummer that was over the top. What a fun weekend for sure. Come join me in Live Oak next month for Roots Revival. 4 day camping experience, incredible musicianship and just a lot of fun for all.

It's Wednesday and I'm just getting back into the studio after camping for this past week in South Carolina. What a blast, great food, great weather, family and amazing bands. What could be better? Well, maybe finding a 4500 year old relic of insurmountable value. Yeah, that would have raised the bar on experiences, but I'm ok with a fun time, good food and good friends around. Mark your calendars for October 10th-13th and come join my camp up in the Spirit of Suwannee music park for this falls "Roots Revival" Bluegrass festival. This will be my 4th (bluegrass) and I have to say; it's always a great time. The music is above most concerts that I've attended, the musicianship is impeccable. Reach back and let me know if anyone's interested. If you've never been to this park, it's worth all the effort. Take my word on it. Thanks for checking in, and thanks for hanging out with me. Stay hip and groovy and always try to do something good for someone.

It's Wednesday, Elvis is dead and I don't feel too good myself.... lol. Morning all you groovy folks.. I know it's been a while since I've posted, hope this finds you all doing well. Thanks for hanging out with me this week, I'll be gone next week. Heading out to catch Marcus King's Family Reunion, should be a blast. If for some reason you haven't listened to him, by all means, do it. If you like Marshall Tucker, Allman brothers etc, check him out. My band The "Landfall" band is playing this coming Saturday up in St. Augustine at the Outback Crabshack. Should be fun, it's right on the river. Come on out, would love to meet all of you... Cool. Happy Tuesday to everyone. Crabman here to help make your day better. Thanks for tuning in, be sure and "like" me on FB and tell your friends. I'm on Mon-Thurs 10am til 1pm. This weeks rant will be on health and the roll of a Chiropractor. Stay hip and groovy.

Happy Thursday all you hip chicks and groovy dudes. If you came out last night to Tortugas, then you know what a good time was had. Have you seen those commercials on tv begging for money and showing you "wounded soldiers", starving animals etc? Aren't you sick of this crap? I am. The salaries of Wounded Warriors and the ASPCA are totally unacceptable. Wounded Warriors CEO : $487,649 per year plus bonus; ASPCA (just short of) 1 million dollars per year. The ASPCA is located in New York and does not filter any money to local animal shelters. PETA is another organization to stay away from, their kill rate is 3x that of other shelters. We are getting played by these celebs and those patronizing pictures of injured soldiers and starving animals. Our government should be providing everything our service men/women need, given the unfortunate casualties that they have sacrificed but yet "they" beg us for more... I don't think so..... anyway, thats my rant for today....Hang on to your money, we work too hard for it to give it to these CEO's. Have a great weekend, always remain hip and groovy and I'll be back with you all Monday, 10am sharp.

Whoa, it feels like it's been a very long time since I've reached out to everyone. The stations FB site needed some work, but I'm back now. Back from the few trips I was fortunate to take while "the Landfall band" is on sabbatical til July 13th. In hopes that this finds everyone enjoying the summer so far, getting plenty of beach time and "chillin like a big time villian." Last week I had the pleasure of joining the "Matanzas Allstars" at JTs Seafood Shack for 4 hours of playing heaven. A big shout-out to all that came out to help party with us. I really miss the Thursday night jam session at the (old) Hammock Wine and Cheese, too much fun. Don't forget to check out the The GreenTree Brothers every Wednesday night at Tortugas in Flagler Beach. Music starts @ 5pm-9 ish, Ben Taddiken on Tuesday nights, well worth the efforts. As always, thanks for tuning in to the show and as always; stay hip and groovy, pay it forward.

It's Tuesday, looks like rain and I'm lovin' every change that comes along. Have you all "liked" me on FB?? Please do, knowing you all are out there just jazzes me up. Landfall is on sabbatical until early July, then it's on like "Donkey Kong". Y'all get on FB and like our page "the Landfall Band", thank you. Got something to talk about, hit me up, I'm here and loaded for bear. Thanks for reading and tuning in, let me hear back from you with requests, subject matter (no politics) but whatever is on your mind.

Is it just me or have the price for concert tickets skyrocketed into a ridiculous space and time?

05/06/2024

It's Monday and I had to come to the station to get a rest from the fun. Lately (as always) I've been getting further into the Avett Brothers and their music. I have to admit, I really like it. It's different than most all the music that I listen to, but OLD DOGs can learn new tricks. Never, EVER limit your yourself by only listening to one era or style of music, there's so many talented artists that never get the recognition deserved for producing great music.... EXPLORE your musical journey, that's all in the fun of loving music. As Nietzsche was quoted saying, " Without music, Life would be a mistake". Well put, wouldn't you agree. Stay hip and groovy and as always, thanks for tuning in...

Good Wednesday morning to all you hipsters. The weather is just getting better (hotter) and better. Really looking forward to the summer months of surf fishing, chilling, playing music and everything that comes my way. Join me every Monday-Thurs 10 am til 1 for the Cosmic Debris show on the best radio station on the planet. Thanks for hanging out with me on this beautiful day. Always be hip and groovy, do something good for someone and don't forget about the The GreenTree Brothers playing tonight at Tortugas starting at 5pm. See you all there.
