Johnson County residents and Sunny Lawn Farms owners, Rob and Doris Morris, had quite an adventure sailing The Great Loop and exploring the diverse waterways of the eastern U.S. and part of Canada.

A Franklin couple took the adventure of a lifetime and traveled the Great Loop by boat around the U.S. and parts of Canada.

Eric has been named Indiana High School Football Coach of the Year 7 times, 2000, 2008, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2022. Eric was the Indiana All-Star football coach in 2002 and 2023. In addition, he was a 2006 Assistant Coach for the East-West Army All-American game. He was the 2015 Max Preps Coach of the Year, 2020 All-American Bowl Coach of the Year, 2020 Indianapolis Colts Coach of the Year, 2022 National High School Athletic Association Coach of the Year. He was also the Indiana Football Coaches Association nominee for the National High School Federation Coach of the Year in 2022.
Eric has 5 children, Tyson, Hannah, Jackson, Hayden and Sydney
Coach Moore has been the head coach at 2 high schools in 39 years of teaching. He has been the head coach at Center Grove High School for 24 years. In that time, the program has won 17 Sectionals, 16 Regionals, 8 Semi-State Championships. In addition, the program has added 3 State Runner-up finishes and 5 State Championships. Before arriving at Center Grove, they had only 1 Sectional title.

Center Grove mourns the loss of Gary Robinson, a beacon & a pillar of our community. Gary, affectionately known as “G Rob” or “The Mayor”, graduated from CGHS in 1973. He spent 43 years as a teacher, the last 37 teaching 7th Grade Social Studies at Center Grove Middle School Central. He also helped coach boys & girls basketball & volleyball for many years & I’m sure he coached other sports as well. He helped spark the Trojans’ 1972 basketball team in the 4th quarter of their Sweet 16 upset win over “Mighty Richmond” at Hinkle FH. Gary made the pass to Guy Ogden who made the game winning shot at the buzzer. It was one of the biggest moments in CG history (see video clip in the comments section below). After retiring from teaching, Gary had been a CG School Board member since November, 2022.

“The passing of Gary Robinson is a tremendous blow to our school community. He was such a powerful advocate for our students and community, and a great supporter of public education,” said William Long, Ed.D., Superintendent. “I appreciated his friendship, support, wisdom, and positive outlook. He was truly a Center Grove icon. His 43 years of teaching experience and love for the Center Grove Community School Corporation made him an excellent board member. We will truly miss him.”

Gary has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Robinson family.
