Federal Way, Wash. - Just before 2:45 AM, 10/24/24, South King Fire along with mutual aid partners with Puget Sound Fire, King County Medic One, and #Zone3Rehab, responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 1400 block of South 303rd.
This is one block north of Federal Way High School.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames showing throughout the entire single-story home. Crews immediately began an offensive fire attack to knock back the flames.
During the firefighting efforts, the power line to the home burned away causing the line to arc.
According to fire officials on the scene, the owner of the home was able to escape but suffered smoke inhalation. The owner was transported from the scene to an area hospital for further treatment.
The fire is now out, crews are still working to extinguish all hot spots. No injuries reported to firefighters.
Cause is under investigation.

Federal Way, Wash. - At around 5:30 PM this evening, 9-26-24, South King Fire was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 900 block of South 321st Street.
Crews arrived on scene and found smoke and flames showing from the kitchen of the residence.
Crews immediately entered the residence and performed an aggressive fire attack, knocking down the fire within minutes.
Thanks to that aggressive fire attack, the fire was limited to the kitchen and did not extend to the rest of the home.
The home was occupied at the time of the fire. All residence were able to quickly and safely evacuate due to working #SmokeDetector alarms according to the South King Fire Commander on the scene. They sustained no injuries.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department put out on X/Twitter the following at 4:00 PM today, 7/15/24,
"Pierce County Sheriffโs Department had an officer involved shooting at the 26000 block of 70th Ave. E. All Officers are OK."
Suspect is reported to have been shot and killed by Deputies on the scene.
No Deputies were injured.
Circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released.

Federal Way, Wash. - Just before 7:30 PM, 6/30/24, South King Fire was dispatched to the Colonial Forest Townhomes in the 32500 block of 1st Place South for a report commercial structure fire.
Crews arrived to light smoke coming from the townhome building.
Crews made entry and located a kitchen fire that had been extinguished by a fire extinguisher.
One occupant of the building, whom deployed the fire extinguisher, was evaluated by King County Medic One paramedics on the scene and declined to be transported to the hospital.
Fire is now out and under investigation, unknown if anyone is displaced.

Federal Way, Wash. - Just after 4:00 AM, 4/29/24, South King Fire was dispatched, along with Puget Sound Fire, to a reported commercial vehicle on fire at a business in the 28800 block of Military Road South.
When crews arrived, they found a single wide mobile office trailer with heavy smoke and flames showing from the side.
Crews immediately stretched a hose line and attacked the fire, knocking it down.
Crews had to use forcible entry tools to open up the trailer to extinguish remaining pockets of fire.
No reported injuries during this incident.
Fire is under investigation by the King County Sheriff's Office.

#Update - WSP confirms the vehicle was reported stolen. A Trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, which took off at a high rate of speed just prior to the collision. Due to current WA Laws, police could not pursue the vehicle just because it was reported stolen.
Federal Way, Wash. - Shortly before 1:15 AM, 10/13/23, Federal Way Police were dispatched to the area of S. 312th and Pacific Highway South to assist Washington State Patrol. Washington State Patrol advised that they had a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Pacific Highway South.
While responding it was reported that the vehicle lost control and struck the Jack in the Box on the NE corner of S. 312th and Pacific Highway. Shortly after crashing, the vehicle burst into flames.
South King Fire was dispatched and quickly upgraded the call to a working commercial fire assignment.
When crews arrived, they found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames extending into the restaurant.
Crews initiated an offensive fire attack and quickly knocked down the flames within 10 minutes of arrival.
Fire crews searched the interior of the vehicle and the restaurant, and nothing was found.
No injuries to firefighters. Occupant(s) in the vehicle fled on foot.

While crews were responding, the call was upgraded to a working fire due to a visible column of smoke in the area of the call.
Crews arrived and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the front and rear of the home.
Crews quickly initiated an offensive fire attack, knocking down the flames within 10 minutes of arriving.
Crews were able to enter the home and search it. Nothing was found in their searches.
Fire is now out and under investigation. No injuries reported to civilians or firefighters.

Firefighters Battle Early Morning Fire in Edgewood

Edgewood, Wash. - At around 4:07 AM on 9/2/23, East Pierce Firefighters IAFF Local 3520 were called to the intersection of 13th Street Court East and Meridian Avenue East for reports of a structure on fire.
When crews arrived, they found a 2-story residential structure heavily involved with smoke and flames in the 10200 block of 13th street court east.
Due to the heavy fire involvement, crews fought the fire defensively from the outside.
Crews were able to knock down the flames within 30 minutes of being dispatched.
Crews are still working to extinguish hot spots.
Cause is under investigation. The residence is believed to be abandoned as multiple windows were observed boarded up.
No reports of injuries.
Northbound Meridian is down to 1 lane in the area while crews continue to mop up this scene.
