Fayetteville Police Captain Chad Myers confirmed in a 2 p.m. press conference that one person inside the residence in the Woodbyne subdivision that had been surrounded by law enforcement since is morning is deceased.
One person is in custody and nine individuals total were removed from the home just after 8 a.m.
Police are still trying to sort out the details of the situation that began with a 7:48 a.m. 911 call on Tuesday morning.

Fayetteville Police Captain Chad Myers confirmed at a 2 p.m. press conference that one person was found deceased in a home that had been surrounded by multiple law enforcement agencies in the Woodbyne subdivision since early this morning.
Myers said the person appeared to have died from a gunshot wound, although he could not definitively say how that occurred. He did say that it did not come about by law enforcement.
This was the culmination of a tense morning in the Woodbyne/White Road area after a 7:48 a.m. 911 call was placed from the same residence by a person Myers said claiming to have been kidnapped by “an organization.”
Upon arrival, police made contact with a person on foot, who then fled officers, but was later apprehended. He is currently under arrest, Myers confirmed.
Police saw movement from a window near the garage and were able to successfully remove nine individuals from the home, with the one person reportedly staying inside.
Myers said police later utilized a robot to make entrance, and that is when the individual was found deceased.

Police gained entry to the residence, Myers said, by way of a robot, and that is when the body was discovered.
Myers also confirmed that one person is in custody after fleeing officers on foot when they arrived at the residence.
The incident began with a 7:48 a.m. 911 call from an unidentified person who Myers said claimed to have been kidnapped by "an organization." When police traced the call to the home they encountered the person on foot and later saw movement in a window near the garage.
Police were able to successfully remove nine individuals from the home, Myers said, but one person was said to have remained inside.
Myers had no definitive answer as to how the individual died, other than it appeared to be from a gunshot wound. Myers said it did not come as a result of law enforcement.
