Today is . Doggo Norbu is having the best day with human Wesley Goins, Engine Operator at the Lux Stage at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Welcomed with some extra fuss from Gera Perl, Norbu had virtual pillion motorbike ride, learnt a little Unreal Engine and contemplated amongst fluffy clouds in the bluest of skies. On his best friend, Wes says "I love this little guy! He is a rescue dog, and his rescue name suited him, so I kept it. I think Norbu is the Tibetan word for crystal or gem. It's been such fun to bring him to work today"

The Lux Stage team are very proud to reveal this groundbreaking amazing project: Georgia Tech College of Design's Center for Music Technology debuted its newest robot musician, medusai, in collaboration with Lux Stage -- and the result was modern magic with eight arms!

This new robot uses to know what people around it are doing, and then it responds with snake-like gestures, music, and light.

Trilith Studios and Prysm Stages, powered by Lux Machina Consulting, recently hosted the Georgia Film Academy students on our virtual production stage to educate them about vp filmmaking, the tools currently used, and the various vp production roles. The students were high-schoolers enrolled in the 2023 Summer Filmmaking Camp at GFA, which, like Prysm, is located on the Trilith Studios lot. Our future filmmakers were excited about this technology, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to have played a small part in their filmmaking education!

Prysm Stages is featured in the February issue of TV Tech Magazine in a "future trends" piece about virtual production, along with our fellow NEP Virtual Studios companies Lux Machina Consulting, and Halon Entertainment.

From the magazine:

Stage 22 at Trilith Studios outside Atlanta was designed and commissioned by Lux Machina Consulting for Prysm Stages and is powered by Lux Machina Consulting's real-time 3D engines. It's a fully enclosed 80-by-90-by-29.5 foot volume in an 18,000 square foot purpose-built stage, built to accommodate large set pieces wrapped 360 degrees with LED panels, including an LED ceiling.

"Stage 22 incorporates new LED, volumetric capture, and structural technologies with amazing image processing capabilities to allow the utmost flexibility for today's filmmakers," said Wyatt Bartel, vice president of Production for Lux Machina Consulting.

Mega news alert! The first Prysm Stages LED volume has moved into production at Trilith Studios in Atlanta for from legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. An NEP Group, Inc. company, Prysm Stages offers a new virtual production experience for filmmakers with a modular stage designed with an open framework for production workflows and color pipelines that can be customized to any given project. With a Georgia base, productions at Prysm at Trilith can benefit from the most generous film tax incentive in the United States, up to 30% with no annual cap on tax credits.

Wesley Goins, Engine Operator, Prysm Stages

Wesley started his career as a visual artist in the music industry, designing and operating complex video systems for live shows. During the pandemic, when the live concerts went away, Wesley focused on leveling up his skills as a gardener and as a virtual production specialist. When he's not on a soundstage or in the garden he continues to make art in his free time.

Barry is a multifaceted artist and award-winning Visual Effects Supervisor who has worked on over 20 feature films. While oils is still a favorite medium, his transition into digital painting led Barry into Virtual Production and now the Prysm Stage at Stage 22 is his canvas!

Grant NG, Motion Capture Supervisor, Prysm Stage 22

Grant studied psychology in undergrad where he researched autism in children. His interest in creating VR experiences for kids on the spectrum started him on the path to motion capture and virtual production. Now, Grant oversees Camera Tracking, ensuring the data and accuracy of the optical system used at Prysm Trilith Stage 22.
