Hartford’s Beloved Holiday Tradition Returns this Christmas
On a bleak and snowy Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge wants nothing more than to collect his debts. But when he is visited by a ghostly old friend, Scrooge must confront his own selfish ways and discover the true meaning of Christmas. Join Scrooge and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future on this journey of redemption in a mesmerizing display of theatrical magic and wonder.
A Christmas Carol runs approximately 2 hours with a 20 minute intermission and includes fog, haze, strobe lights and spooky ghosts
***Sensory Friendly Performance Saturday, December 6, 2025 | 2:00 pm Hartford Stage will host a sensory-friendly performance of A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas. Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a theatre experience that is slightly modified for audiences on the autism spectrum or with other sensory sensitivities.
~Open Captioned December 7 at 2pm
This state-of-the-art service provides the dialogue of the production on a text screen on one side of the stage and is synchronized with the onstage performance. Open captioning assists people with varying degrees of hearing loss as well as hearing audience members who might not catch every word during a performance.
~Audio Described December 13 at 2pm
Audio description enables audience members who are blind or have low vision to hear descriptions of actions, body language, lights, costumes, scenery and other aspects of the production not conveyed by voices from the stage.
