On Thursday, May 9, The Chaldean News and the Chaldean Community Foundation hosted a Chaldean Story cultural night. Look forward to an upcoming article in the June issue.
Last night, the Chaldean Community Foundation and the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce hosted Iraq’s Prime Minister, Mohammed Shyaa Al-Sudani, for a community conversation and business roundtable.
🙏 During the event, the speakers addressed critical issues such as the return of Chaldean Catholic Patriarch - Cardinal Louis Sako to Baghdad, disputes over lands and territories in northern Iraq, the reconstruction of Chaldean and Yezidi villages in the Nineveh Plain, concerns regarding an alcohol ban affecting minority communities, and the implementation of Article 125 in the Iraqi constitution.
🌍 With over 500 attendees, the evening was filled with insightful discussions and concluded with inspiring success stories from top area business leaders.
🤝 A heartfelt thank you to the Chaldean Iraqi American Association of Michigan (Shenandoah) for their invaluable support in making this event possible.
The event was sponsored and paid for by the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce.
To feed her large family, Jamila cooked many of the traditional Chaldean dishes she grew up eating in Telkaif. As the years passed, she began to learn about the local cuisine as well, adding traditional Mexican meals, with their freshest of ingredients, to her family’s diet. From their mom, Amira and her sisters would learn the recipes for making meals from both traditions.
The Chaldean Cultural Center sponsored the Chaldean segment of a documentary called Detroit: City of Faith by 8-time Emmy Award winning filmmaker Keith Famie. It will be played by PBS on Friday, March 22nd at 8 pm.
