The aforementioned disturbance in the eastern Atlantic actually decreased on chances of storm formation. So that's a good thing. Still keeping an eye on it, though.

Wow!!! What a night! Things seem to be calming down, for now. But I will check back in before going to sleep for good.

A G4 geomagnetic storm produced a fantastic opportunity for us to see the northern lights (AKA the Aroura Borealis) way down here in north Louisiana! This is bucket list type stuff for me so of course, I was/am still very excited!

Here's some of my best shots, taken with the drone. Notice the progression over about 90 minutes or so - from Hmmm to WOW! My drone is limited on what it's still camera can do, so it's not DSLR or camera phone quality, but it's 400 foot higher than everyone else! :)

THEY'RE BAAACCCKKK!!!!

The northern lights (Aurora Borealis) are once again visible in north Louisiana! This photo was taken 389' above the ground on a long exposure. Get out there and see if you can see it! Some reports are that it is visible to the naked eye if you can get a dark enough spot!! I had the best luck looking north-northwest.

Yes, I'll be checking back later on. I expect them to get more vibrant later in the night. (Totally my semi-educated guess)

Here we go!!! G4 Level geomagnetic storm in progress. After dark, look north toward the horizon. Northern lights may be visible here! Likely not to the naked eye; use a long exposure on your camera.
