With a warm respect for those who live and work in the historic and diverse 92,000-strong city of Fall River, Mass., The Fall River Spirit was launched on Oct. 30, 2003, as a specialty weekly newspaper determined to chronicle the daily lives of its inhabitants week in and week out. The Spirit provides a mirror into all that is good in an urban community that, like so many former mill towns, faces

challenges as it strives for a better future. It’s about real life, a city’s life, made up of a million little moments of human interaction and companionship, from bingo games to breakfasts at the local diner to school plays and youth soccer games on a Saturday afternoon.
