SimuSynth 86 alpha coded in Swift running on iOS.
30 mins of raw SimuSynth 86 gameplay. See how the system runs as I launch a simulation of being in the role of a firefighter during 9/11. SimuSynth 86 will be the first of 5 apps we are launching to the iOS App Store in 2025. For $3/month or free w/ads you can have the most advanced real world based simulation system leveraging the most advanced computers in the world at your fingertips. All presented through an easy to use retro 1980s interface.

Working on a suite of four interconnected apps I am calling LifeStyle 86 which features SimuSynth, SurfnSynth, JourniSynth, and ThinkrSynth. These current graphics are alpha but I am building towards a retro 1986 inspired digital interface that will be monochromatic green text on black background similar to the original Oregon Trail.
Outside of music production I’ve been working on building a simulation engine called SimuSynth. Inspired by retro 1980s computer systems but leveraging the most advanced technologies of today. SimuSynth is for entertainment and business use.
As we move into 2025, I’m excited to share the direction we’re taking at Soniphone Records. Over the years, we’ve explored a wide range of sounds—starting with garage rock and psychedelic metal, then moving into female-fronted groups, electronic music, and even experimental fusions like country and 80s synthwave. Along the way, we’ve also ventured into scoring independent films. Now, we’re focusing on building something new: a production environment that bridges the gap between retro and future electronic sounds.
This new phase combines the best of analog tools, like tape production, with innovative technology, including modified vintage computers, the Commodore 64 Sound Interface, and Python-based coding. We’ve created a custom simulation engine to help producers bring their ideas to life faster and with more precision than ever before.
We’ve also restructured the operational side of the label. By rebuilding our backend and migrating to a new platform, we’ve streamlined workflows and shortened the lead time between production and release. It’s all about making the process smoother and more efficient.
On the creative side, we’re shifting how we develop projects. Instead of focusing on a few specific artists or bands, we’re pairing producers with songwriters and musicians to create fully realized projects. Once a project is ready, we’ll bring in top talent to record and release the work.
Our first project in this new model is MORODOR, a production duo inspired by artists like GUNSHIP, Johnny Jewel, and Giorgio Moroder. We’ll be working with an incredible lineup of vocalists in early 2025, aiming for a Q3 release on digital platforms and cassette tape.
