Regardless of age, time of day, or location, radio remains a reliable media companion of Black consumers. About 93% of Black consumers aged 12 years and over listened to the radio in an average week(Fall 2011 survey period). This has remained the No. 1 format among Black listeners since 2006. Among listeners 12+, 56% were women and 44% men; unlike Adult
Contemporary, which was dominated by females. Share of listening by location(listeners 12+) - 58.5% away from home, 41.5% at home. Average time spent listening was 6.75 hours, with target listeners(25-54)
spending more time with Urban Contemporary stations than with any other format in the study. Approximately 38% had a household income of over $50,000(persons 18+). Approximately 56% attended college with a majority graduating(persons 18+).
