Finally got a shot of the comet Tsunchinshon ATLAS last night. Never could see in with my eyes. I had to make several exposures across the sky to find it.

After missing the unbelievable show of the Northern Lights Monday night I was still watching all the indicators to see if they might be visible last night. I debated to go down at midnight to see if they were out but knew I would regret it if I didn't and they had come out. These are the best northern lights I've been able to photograph...so far! They were not really visible to the naked eye but the camera captured them. Enjoy!

Went down to the lake once again to try and see the C2023 C3 comet, but alas, once again we never saw it before twilight overwhelmed it somewhere in the sky. But we did get these two images and a lot more which I'll post in the next few days. Enjoy.

Here is the first timelapse I've processed out from this past Tuesday evening in Peninsula State Park in Door County. It started out with lots of rain in the morning, then clear blue skies and then at sunset, this. One of those times it can go either way, give you nothing to work with or be a bit spectacular, or somewhere in between. It took just over and hour of shooting to get these 30 seconds.

This evenings Super Moon rising over Lake Michigan from Lighthouse Beach, Evanston, Illinois. From the teardrop as it cleared the edge to clouds moving over the moon. enjoy.

It may surprise you in these days of near-universal GPS systems, 300 of the lighthouses are still active aids to navigation. The state of Michigan has more lighthouses along its coastline than any other state in the United States. See more in our blog post!

Happy Fourth of July!

As we celebrate this 248th birthday of this great nation one thing is on many people’s mind – will it survive to the 250th anniversary?

As the voices for the environment and specifically the world’s 20% of fresh surface water in the Great Lakes it seems this fall there is only one party to support if you care about the environment, healthcare, and rights of everyone. We urge you to vote to keep our water clean and safe for drinking.

The recent Chevron decision by the Supreme Court puts the environment in more jeopardy as the laws can be weakened in the coming years. The Great Lakes have plenty of environmental challenges they face. You can find more information on our website.

Vote Blue this fall, the only party which cares about environmental issues.
