We lost a good one today. Jeff valiantly fought against cancer for the past couple years with his loving wife Tammy at his side. He wasn’t local but he’d always journey to us to ride his MTB and check on Linda and I at the shop. His cool, calm demeanor was always a welcome site at the Shed. When he couldn’t make it by, he’d shoot me a message support when I needed it.

I’m excited for Jeff to be in heaven, back at full strength and ready to shred the trails again. Do me a favor and take him on your next ride with you. Whether you had the chance to meet him or not, think of his love for the trail and send a prayer up to him.

RIP Jeff Smith a beloved veteran and mountain biker.

Giant Bicycles responsible for making frames for Trek Bicycle has been found to utilize threats, debt bo***ge, and a host of other heinous business practices….reminds me a lot of their dealer agreements and tactics. It is not surprising this has finally come to light.

Watch the video. These companies demand access to bank accounts of employees similar to those records forced by brands to dealers. Dealers are forced to buy in each year, forcing shops to purchase up to 80% of goods from only them, making up rules as they go to suit themselves while withholding vital information or flat out manipulating business partners.

We have the receipts, forced agreements, recorded phone calls, and odd email request from these bike brands. It’s time we bring manufacturing back to the US and impose American values no matter the cost. Companies who take advantage of workers don’t stop there, it’s their core value.
