Being a publisher in my community is about so much more than just publishing local events. It’s about bringing local families together and keeping families engaged with community leaders that strive to make it a better place. It’s because of the amazing organizations like Opelousas Kiwanis that set out to bring positivity in their community to spark change, support local families and inspire a future generation of leaders

🎉 December Kiwanian of the Month: Courtney Jennings 🎉

We are proud to recognize Courtney Jennings as our December Kiwanian of the Month! Courtney is one of our newest members, yet she has long been involved in serving her community.

She currently works as a paraprofessional at Port Barre Elementary and serves as the publisher for MacaroniKID – Acadia St. Landry. MacaroniKID is a national publishing network that provides free, hyper-local news on kid- and family-friendly events through its website and weekly newsletter.

As the MacaroniKID Acadia–St. Landry publisher, Courtney helps raise awareness of local family opportunities and activities. Through this role, she has built meaningful friendships and personal connections with people throughout the community who dedicate their time to supporting local families.

When asked what she enjoys most about joining Kiwanis, Courtney shared that she loves the opportunity to connect with fellow members and make a positive impact for families in our area.

Fun Fact: Her favorite go-to comfort food is ice cream! 🍦
