101 Haiku
A Journey Through the Seasons

Traveling to a new place can change your perspective and your life. Such was the case when American music teacher Vera Kochanowsky took her first trip to Japan and became completely captivated by the novel sights, the unique culture, and the charm of the people. Inspired to begin an intense study of Japanese classical literature after her return home, she immersed herself in the works of Bashō, Buson, Issa, Shiki, and other famous Japanese haiku poets. This led her to begin writing her own haiku, culminating in this collection—101 Haiku, A Journey Through the Seasons, a mosaic-like portrait of a year filled with the shifting colors of life’s experiences: joy and sadness, friendship and solitude, growth and decay.

Save The Gardeners

In Save the Gardeners, Professor Koichi Grant ends up on the wrong side of a secret society of people who never age.
After three failed attempts on Koichi’s life, the society’s religion dictates recruitment. And while Koichi hates the society, he loves his girlfriend Andrea, who is a member of their ranks. So he decides, as the old saying goes, that if he can’t beat them, he’ll join them (and Andrea) in eternal youth.
Once on the inside, Koichi discovers the society’s secret farm, where they grow an otherwise extinct herb responsible for the society’s longevity. But the farm is also found by thieves who steal its produce. Koichi is unjustly blamed and sentenced to death, and the farm is destroyed to maintain secrecy. The gardeners who have cared for the miracle herb find themselves in extreme danger when they escape with the seeds. Can Koichi save them?
