I’m very honored to have two of my zines on display at the The Arts Center - Corvallis, OR gallery! I’ll be there on Thursday, March 20st for the reception and art walk, but the zines will be posted and available to read now through April 5! It’s really rewarding for me to have something I’ve always considered art in a gallery setting. I’ve had plenty of gallery shows of drawing and painting, but never for zines! I’m feeling inclined lately to make a political zine. I’ve mostly strayed from politics at least in issues I am specific about. But I really can’t allow what is happening now. Everyone knows social media is not to be trusted. Any digital mark can be tracked and can’t be trusted. Printed physical objects are real and demand attention!! They can’t control what we print at home and distribute independently. We decide the record. We have control!!! This is the way to distribute your ideas freely without censorship and fear of harm. We need zines more than ever!!! 🇵🇸

New shirt design based on issue cover design ( inspired by “The Exploited”). Issue #6 was the best seller last year with over 100 copies distributed. I self published a Risograph edition of 200 and had a full color paperback made. It exists on Kindle in digital form too. Issue 6 just ended up being a great mix of different artists and a great interview with . It’s got a bright red and black printing for the Risograph version and just a lot of punk rock personality. I’ve still got some copies left if anyone missed out. Snag one while you can on its own or as part of the limited 2024 zine bundle (only 6 remain)!!

2024 has been the year of learning how to be a dad and getting more serious about my art and zines. Compared to the previous 1 or 2 issues a year, this year I put out 4 issues, about 1 every 3 months. That’s about 170 pages of content! Between the 4 of them, I printed 500 copies this year! All these zines were Risograph printed at home and hand assembled by me. Angel helped a couple times though. I also self published a paperback version of issue 6. Between time, costs, etc. none of this has been very profitable, but every zine sale helps tremendously! A huge thank you to everyone who has followed and bought zines this year! This year I’m focusing on trying to make more profitable art as I need to keep food on the table. I am compiling earlier copies of Afterglow and planning to put out a collection of currently unavailable back issues as a book. I’m also working on wrapping up the “Empty” zine series which is rather personal and independent. Very different from Afterglow. I hope everyone has a great new year!!!

Did you know that all four issues of Afterglow released this year features reviews of cheap albums from thrift stores?? “Diggin the wild” explores a random range of music in physical formats found out in the world for under $5. These reviews have gained popularity and are informative and humorous. The new issue ( #9) (NOW AVAILABLE) features reviews of albums by The Animals, Ram Jam, The Kinks, Iron Butterfly, and Paul Simon, along with soundtracks for Gross Pointe Blank and Mr. And Mrs. Smith!
