"Not another worksheet!" That was the headline of one of the first magazine ads we ran when we were just starting the business, way back in 1980 or so. It's always been our goal to offer "worksheets" that are quirky and engaging and fun to do. Our books WakerUppers and Gotta Think! are good examples. Here's a sample activity from Gotta Think.

Here at Tin Man Press, we're doing everything we can to help our customers navigate these difficult times. We are committed to continue to provide teachers and parents—and the children they care for—with prompt, reliable service. We hope our activites help keep those young minds engaged as so many have faced the prospect of closed classrooms.

Hey all - We haven't posted in awhile but will be better about keeping in touch. Rest assured that we're busy developing new products and staying diligent about filling orders promptly. Greta and Ted, bless their hearts, the founders of the company, are still coming up with wonderful new ideas.

We're in the process of reducing our prices, just a bit, due to these difficult times. We know lots of kids are out of school and routines have changed. Our mission remains the same as it's always been - give kids an opportunity to think creatively and constructively, in ways that let them have fun in the process.

We're working hard to digitize all of our products, and offer them at a reduced price. During these times, with so many kids stranded at home, we hope we can offer some thought-provoking (and fun) activities that sparks that innate intellectual curiosity. Thanks so much to all Tin Man Press customers for your years of support. Stay well.

We’re nearly finished with the Grade 2 version of our whole-year critical and creative thinking program, Start Thinking. We promise! We only offer ideas of our own, and there are only four of us, so this always takes a little more time. Here’s a sample.

Both Ted and Greta Rasmussen, who founded Tin Man Press in 1979, remain active in the company, as do the next two generations of Rasmussens. But we all do other things, too. Ted and Greta are both accomplished artists. Here’s a painting Greta made a couple of years ago. It's a little strange—what's that owl up to, anyway? But so is Tin Man Press!

Here's an activity from the Grade 4 version of our whole-year thinking program, Start Thinking! This one concentrates on the letter "C," but the real point is to give kids a daily dose of creative thinking challenges that they don't get in their regular curriculum.
