Ann Werner always took a liking to training dogs. She was part of an obedience group to train her own dogs in Massachusetts for 20 years before moving to Estero nine years ago. Now retired, she has decided to dedicate her time to training puppies to become service dogs.

In 1962, founder Luis Fernandez immigrated to the U.S. at age 16 in a covert exodus named “Operation Peter Pan” to escape rising communism in Cuba.

At the March 5, 2024, Lee County School District (LCSD) Board meeting, a lease agreement was approved forging a new Village of Estero and LCSD partnership. The agreement provides the Village with about 55 acres of land adjacent to Estero High School for $10 a year, for 99 years.
