Day 2 - beach day. Today was filled with sun, sand and nearly 70 degree temperatures.

was the only one brave enough to get in the frigid water.

The best part of the day, though was feeling like and I are totally winning this whole rearing two boys thing when I heard.

Spent another day up in WY looking for elk. Didn’t find a one, not even any real strong sign, but found a few treasures and got to spend the day hanging with . All in all, not a bad way to spend a Saturday.

This is a project that's long overdue. Mary and I have always wanted a fireplace in our bedroom. We've looked at real wood-burning fireplaces (they're basically illegal here), wood burning stoves (bedrooms are really too small for a stove like this) and gas fireplaces (honestly, I don't remember why we opted to NOT go this route). This fall, we were at some friends' house and they were in the process of building a case for an electric fireplace. [ 140 more words ]

Mary sent me a link to an article that ran in the Summit County newspaper a while back about a troll that had appeared in Breckenridge this past August. At first, I wasn't 100% excited about driving ~2 hrs each way to go see a wooden troll, but the more I read about it and the artist who created it (he's done others at various places around the world) the more excited I got. This elk season was like no other. The details are too involved to get into and I am not sure I want to re-live it all. Next year some things are going to need to change, but the one thing about this area is that it's always beautiful. Already looking forward to giving it another crack in 2019.
