Last week Atomic Productions Inc. had the pleasure of capturing a wonderful event at offices in San Francisco during their Season of Giving. San Francsico Toasters gathered together to create food packages for Huckleberry Youth Programs. As you can see, it was smiles all around and we are proud to have been there to capture this amazing event. Learn more about and their amazing mission!

Atomic’s newest edit suite is getting a little love on the interwebs. Headliner Magazine features our new Dolby Atmos suite with top-of-the line Genelec speakers and gives a shoutout to Sound Designer Johnny Small in this months feature article.

Atomic Productions recently commissioned a new audio suite equipped for Dolby Atmos production featuring a complete Genelec monitoring array.

Last week Atomic Productions Inc, teamed up with to film a virtual field trip at Nasa Ames, in the machine shop.

These virtual field trips allow kids to learn about potential career paths that they may want to pursue. The field trip will be shared with several high schools in the Santa Clara Unified School District including Wilcox High & MacDonald High.
The kids will meet different employees at Nasa Ames talking about how they got into heavy machining and how they ended up working at Nasa!

Featured is our most of our crew with the N220 Machine and Fabrication Shops plus a great picture of the entire team with a replica of the NASA Viper Lunar Landing Simulation Rover. We really enjoy helping the Wender Weis Foundation for Children with these virtual field trips.

This week Atomic Productions went to for (National Association of Broadcasters) convention.
Besides checking out the latest equipment and software at the convention we had some fun.
And we had our friends Gaffer & DP and , who are now honorary with us 😃

At the show we were attacked by the Velociraptor from Jurassic Park at the booth! After barely surviving the convention 😜 we decided to travel the world and head over to where we “flew” over the Wild West and Iceland. We all recommend the Iceland fly over!

Then we ended up at the newest Cirque du Soleil Show at to see . As a few of us decided to take a picture together on stage, and our Production Manager, Lucy found herself being part of the show. Did you know she can spin a basketball on her fingers and head? Well she can now 😃

Part 1:

We’ve been under construction at updating some of our edit suites to offer more services. Our biggest endeavor was switching Mike & Johnny’s suites to create a Dolby ATMOS audio client suite. Editor and graphic artist Johnny creates music and has scored our award winning short “Conspiracy”. So, we thought – wouldn’t it be cool if Johnny had a client suite that he could create music and make it sound amazing. So, we asked long time Atomic Producer Mike, who primarily works from home if he’d mind switching offices.
So, this is how it’s going 😃 Mike actually is enjoying his temporary home in the studio.

We love to travel at Atomic. Well, most of us. Travel is as much about the journey as it is the destination. But along the way you hope to learn a few things you maybe didn’t know, and experience a few things you may not have thought you could. This last month we added another full chapter to our travel log. We started the month in Canton, OH for the NFL Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Our friends at the Raiders and 49ers were there too but we were covering the induction of Coach Dick Vermeil, born in Calistoga and a graduate of San Jose State University. We even tracked down Kurt Warner to tell that great story of how they both essentially put each other in the Hall of Fame. Then a week later it was off to Idaho Falls, ID to capture the untold story of a company called Final Finish whose handy work can be seen on basketball courts all over the world. Did you know a small company in the middle of nowhere builds those parquet floors with the intricate designs that grace the maplewood courts of NBA and NCAA basketball teams around the country? Neither did we. There we go learning things again. But we weren’t done. The last week of August took us to Bozeman, MT and a factory that grows germanium and silicon and makes parts for defense contractors so secret we couldn’t look at them. Made for an interesting shoot! We learned the difference between silicon and silicone and how silicon is used in an F-35 fighter jet but silicone is used… well, somewhere else.

There was another top secret location we got all dressed up for, but unfortunately, we can’t even tell you about that. Travel is fun, it gets us out of the office and on the road to places we otherwise may never have visited. It’s work for sure, but it’s more than that. It’s a big part of what makes this business of storytelling so much fun. Now, off to New York, that’s a story for another day.

I think we all look amazing… Are we at a sanitation center? Getting ready to film in a clean laboratory? Just trying on some new company uniforms? 😃
We aren’t allowed to say – but we were safe and we had fun!

Atomic is pleased to announce that its short film, Conspiracy, will premiere as an Official Selection at New York CineFest later this month. The film was written, produced, and directed by Danny Angotti, and will debut in New York on the May 14th kicking off day two of the festival. Award nominations will be announced at the red-carpet opening night party on the 13th, followed by the New York CineFest Awards Show at 8pm on the 15th. The film has been making its way through the festival circuit and has already garnered many awards and laurels over the last several months. A Bay Area screening will be announced over the summer, and we’ll update you on other potential Film Festival screening opportunities in the future. Conspiracy stars Michael Antosy, Lisie Rosenberg, Josiah Polhemus, Wendell Wilson, Kaiso Hill and Adam Thayer. Casting by Lorie Laube, with Atomic providing key personnel including cinematography and editing by Matthew Zinn and Max King, an original score by Johnny Small, visual effects by John Oczkowski and make-up and production support by Lucy Nazareno. Congratulations to everyone who worked on the film!
