Elysburg Fire Department Emergency Medical Services 2025 AMBULANCE SUBSCRIPTION DRIVE IS UNDERWAY!

The Elysburg Fire Department & Emergency Medical Services, a Pennsylvania non-profit organization, is pleased to announce that its annual subscription drive is underway.

The 2025 subscription flyers have only been mailed to the primary coverage residents and business in the following locations:

Ralpho Township (Including Elysburg and Overlook)
Paxinos
Rush Township
Shamokin Township
Cleveland Township
Franklin Township
Mayberry Township

By subscribing to the not-for-profit department, if you utilize their emergency medical services, you are not responsible for any of the medical bill not covered by your insurance.

Non-subscribers are responsible for the total balanced billed. Plus, the subscription and donation assists in purchasing the latest lifesaving emergency equipment as well as offsetting day-to-day operating expenses.

Elysburg Fire Department Emergency Medical Services provides basic and advanced life support services with professional staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week, out of its East Mill Street location.

Elysburg Fire Department would like to thank our communities for their continued support.

Some areas of primary coverage are shared with neighboring EMS agencies.

Elysburg, PA

Today in the village a Chevrolet Equinox collided with Peterbilt Semi owned by Northstar Transport of Ontario, Canada.

The crash occurred around 5:09 pm at the intersection of Market and Center Streets.

The incident happened when a Chevrolet Equinox failed to stop for a stop sign while traversing East Center Street attempting to cross Market Street onto West Center Street. The Equinox hit the semi with such force it pushed the semi onto the sidewalk of South Market Street.

The driver of the semi truck was uninjured, three passengers from the Equinox were transported to Geisinger Medical Center, two with head injuries and one with a hand injury in stable condition. None of the passengers were reportedly wearing their seat belts in the Equinox.

According to patrolman Glen Wonsock of the Ralpho Township Police Department the driver acknowledged the presence of stop sign however they claimed they could not see it due to heavy sun glare.

The roadway was closed for approximately 1 hour. Assisting on the scene was the Elysburg Fire, Overlook Fire, and 3 Ambulances and a MICU from Area Services. The Equinox was towed by Tire Ranch and the semi truck also was towed from the scene Aurands.

The accident is still under active investigation, charges may be pending.

Today Natural Tranquility of 129 North Market St announced their impending closure via their page. The last day for the business will be December 31st, 2024

Founded in 2015 by Destiny Yeager as a full-service message and skin care service “providing exceptional and personalized services that make clients feel like family”. The business faithfully served the Elysburg and surrounding area for 9 years.

Kat Barbour a longtime employee and Licensed Message Therapist had this to say about the closure “Love you Destiny! I’m so glad that natural tranquility was my first massage job. You helped shape me into a better therapist / person. I truly believe that. I’m happy that you are changing directions and spicing up life ♥️”

Many clients on Facebook today were offering words of encouragement. Margo Lepore Kase had this to say: “It has been an honor to call you my friend. Your future is ahead of you. Embrace what great things God has in store for you! ❤️ Jeremiah 29:11”

Please note this number will only be answered during business hours. The business website and business phone number have already been disconnected.

This was the message posted today on the businesses page saying Farwell:
“Saying goodbye is never easy, but it has been a honor to serve my community for the last 9 years. Unfortunately, 2024 has been a year of change for my office and my personal life and God has never steered me in the wrong direction. I will be closing Natural Tranquility as of Dec. 31, 2024 and will be creating new memories and chapters. It is so hard to say goodbye I have seen marriages, divorces, pregnancies, births, happiness, sadness and all the moments in between and I would never trade those moments. You aren't just clients you have become family and I will miss each and everyone of you. To use gift cards please send me a message via Facebook or 570-316-2468 for me to get you scheduled. I will only be answering during business hours and please if texting please include your name. I will do my best to get everyone in before the doors close.
