With the big celebration planned in uptown Elwood this evening, there will be some parking restrictions.

South "A" Street on both the east and west side of Anderson Street will be blocked off beginning at 4:00pm from Anderson Street to the atm lanes at STAR Financial Bank and to the alley behind the Opera House. This will allow the bleachers, picnic tables, stage, sound system, Emergency Management, and Quincy’s Masonic Lodge’s food trailer to be set up prior to the event.

There will be NO PARKING along Anderson Street from Main to South “B” Street starting at 5:30pm for the rest of the evening for the lighting festivities and parade.

While we understand this might cause an inconvenience to some, please know that the safety of our attendees is our main priority. Keeping the parade route clear of vehicles is CRUCIAL.

Please DO NOT park in the St. Vincent Mercy Hospital's Main Parking lot. This lot must be reserved for patients and visitors to the hospital. If you choose to park in the hospital lot, your vehicle will be towed.

The Municipal Parking Lot behind Gypsy Soul and the Municipal Building's parking lot will be open for parking. The Catholic Church Parking lot will be available as well.

Additional parking can be found around the fountain. We ask that you DO NOT BLOCK or park on the apron area of the police department or fire department. Emergency vehicles must be able to get in and out of their departments.

We are looking forward to an exciting evening of fun and making memories safely!

Thank you!

Important information from Park Superintendent, Clay Creekmore:
Beginning tomorrow, November 11th, Callaway Park will be closed in preparation for "Christmas at Callaway". Park staff will be hard at work getting all of the Christmas decorations and lights put out throughout the park. The park will be filled with light displays and extension cords, so it's imperative that individuals do not enter the grassy and playground areas. Superintendent Creekmore also asks that from this point on, people do not park on the grass in any area of the park. Thank you for your patience and understanding as they park team gears up for the most wonderful time of the year!
