🐾 Exciting News from the Gilmer County Animal Shelter! 🐾

We are thrilled to announce that thanks to an incredible donation, the Snipet Bus is coming back to Gilmer County Animal Shelter! This means we can once again offer free spay/neuter surgeries and rabies vaccinations to members of our community who need it the most. ❤️

Our goal is to reduce pet overpopulation and provide essential care to those who might otherwise struggle to afford it. 🐕🐈

💉 Additional Services Available:
Microchipping and other vaccinations can be added for a small fee.

📋 Eligibility Criteria:

Age: 8 weeks and older (preferably 12 weeks if conditions allow).
Weight: Minimum 3 lbs (no exceptions). Maximum capacity is for pets up to 50 lbs.
Breeds: Unfortunately, brachycephalic breeds are not eligible for this program.

It’s time to let go of your old electronics!
Bring your monitors, keyboards, hard drives and more. Bring TV s, batteries, chargers and cords. Bring old phones, floppies, and laptops galore. But PLEASE check the list of acceptable things before packing your car.

Here is the latest (1:09 PM) on Hurricane Francine. Hurricane Francine is forecast to make landfall along the Louisiana coast this evening and quickly track northward into Mississippi while weakening. The forecast track does not and will not include Georgia; however, impacts (primarily an isolated flooding risk) may still occur in the region.

WHERE & WHEN:

· Impacts are most likely to occur between Thursday and Saturday in northern and central Georgia.

· Flooding Potential: Peaking Friday and Friday night as soils become more saturated.

· Winds: The breeziest winds are expected Thursday through Friday morning.

· Tornadoes: The potential for tornadoes is low, but an isolated, brief tornado could occur in west Georgia, mainly late Thursday.
