The relocation to Inglewood has enabled the Clippers to strengthen ties to the South Bay. Since moving to Inglewood, many additional members of the Clippers franchise have also moved to the area. They estimate that at least half of the organization now calls the South Bay home. And Intuit’s proximity to one of L.A.’s most desirable areas has become an enhanced recruiting tool in attracting top talent to the team. 🏀 As the Clippers were building this year’s roster, they added four veteran players—all at their peak—including Chris Paul, who had previously been with the team. And they recruited two standout rookies with their first- and second-round draft picks. The Clippers’ proximity to the South Bay definitely enhanced the rookies’ transition to joining the team. Both have made the South Bay their new home. Read about this young talent in link in bio.

Braun Levi, an 18-year-old Loyola High School tennis star, was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver while walking home with friends along Sepulveda Boulevard in Manhattan Beach in May. He was just about to graduate from high school and was headed to the University of Virginia in the fall. The entire South Bay and beyond grieved together. For many of us with children out that night, waiting for our kids to come home and then hearing the news of Braun’s death forged an instant connection to that family—and with it, the sobering realization that it could have been any one of us. Read how his mother, Jennifer, turned unimaginable heartbreak into a movement of compassion, connection and change. Link in bio.

A proper butchery stands as both a craft and a cornerstone of community—where skill, respect for the animal and an unbroken lineage of knowledge come together behind the block. Long before the rise of industrial meat processing, butchers were trusted artisans who understood every cut and its purpose, transforming necessity into nourishment with precision and care. Their work connected farmers to families, ensuring nothing was wasted and every piece was honored. Read more about recent South Bay addition The Butchery and some recipe ideas for the holidays. It’s a quiet Monday morning on Highland Avenue, the kind that makes North Manhattan Beach feel like a secret. Across from Two Guns Espresso, Jaunt Beauty Co. glows in the sunlight—a haven of calm and understated elegance. Inside, a chandelier glimmers overhead, and the soft hum of music replaces the typical salon buzz. It’s cozy yet refined … more like a living room than a nail salon. “I wanted it to feel like home,” says Ashlie Johnson. “Somewhere you can come in, take a breath and feel cared for.” 💅 More in link in bio.

What began as a commute from Orange County soon became a calling. “I didn’t grow up thinking I’d be a hairdresser, let alone own a salon,” Michael Nguyen admits. “But timing and life pull you in the right direction.” ✂️ That pull led to Mikell Coiffure, the stunning sanctuary he designed himself on Highland Avenue. With soft Moroccan influences, creamy tones, textured walls and ocean views that feel like a meditation, his salon is more than a place for hair; it’s a space for connection.

Walk, drive or ride a bike down Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach any day of the week, and it’s impossible to miss Stars Antique Market. It stands out not just because of its eclectic window displays, but because of the building itself. The red barn-style structure, built in 1917, was originally a church. Step through the doors, and you can still feel the echoes of that past. The original choir loft remains, a tangible link to over a century of local history. Explore its rich legacy in link in bio.
